Tim Holtz True Love Mixed Media Project

Today let’s create a sweet “true love” mixed media project! We will be using the brand new Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits True Love Colorize Die Set. This wonderful set creates some yummy chocolates and the box for these chocolates. These are really fun and easy to create! I will show you in detail how to assemble and embellish these little candies as well as the box!

We will start with an unfinished wood frame that measures approximately 8″x8″. I picked this up at my local craft store. I sanded it and gave it a couple of coats of paint using a pretty “Oyster Beige” color.

To create the bow for our box top we will be using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits Bowtied Colorize Die Set. Again, I will show you in detail how to easily assemble this beautiful bow.

We will be embossing the box top with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Textured Impressions Swirls Embossing Folder using the Tim Holtz idea-ology – Kraft-Stock Metallic Classics in gold.

Let’s grab some patterned papers from the Tim Holtz idea-ology – Worn Wallpaper Scraps and the Backdrops Volume #1. We will also be using some die cuts from the Tim Holtz idea-ology – Layers Botanicals collection.

For some added elegance and shimmer we will apply some of the Tim Holtz Distress Foundry Wax in the “Gilded” gold color. I’ll give you a few tips and tricks for using this fun product!

Let’s add some fun sentiments to our project using the Tim Holtz idea-ology – Label Stickers Sentiments.

We will also add some pretty matte gold pearls and some Tim Holtz Mica Flakes for added sparkle and interest!

I hope this inspires you to create a Valentine’s project of your own or even a simple sweet card using this wonderful candy box die set!

Office Party Birthday Window Card!

Today’s card was inspired by the current Art Impressions Blog Challenge which is to create a card or project with a window. Any kind of window will do…maybe a shadowbox window, a vehicle with windows, a front porch with a window….you get the idea! Just have fun and use your imagination! I thought I would make a fun and festive birthday card for a co-worker using an office window!

To get started we can grab some pretty striped and polka dot paper from the Ai Paper Pack (Halloween Journal Series) and die cut them using the Ai Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies (5063). These fun patterned papers can be used all year round….not just for Halloween!

Let’s die cut a window from the Ai Journal Template Die Set (5543) using some white cardstock. We can now attach the striped paper and the window opening to a piece of acetate.

Now we can stamp and color all of our images from the Ai Office Party Set (4998) using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Flesh Colour, Bright Yellow, Orange, English Lavender, Lilac, Purple, Lt Red Grape, Lt Gray, Mustard.

We can do a bit of fussy cutting to cut our all of our images. Let’s now attach the focal image behind the office window and next we can use some 3D Foam Tape to attach the front panel of our card.

Now we can add the other little images including the clipboard, paper & pencil, and the colorful balloons…which all come included with this fun stamp set!

Let’s die cut a little frame from the Ai Journal Template Set (5543) for our sentiment which will say “Here’s to another year of keeping each other sane!”.

We can add some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to the balloons for a bit of sparkle and let’s also add some beautiful Purple Opalescent sequins!

See-through Acetate Tent Fold Card!

Today we will be creating a fun See-through Acetate Tent Fold Card! I just couldn’t resist using this adorable Ai Love Thing Set (4752)! This sweet couple is enjoying a delicious box of chocolates and they just look like they are in absolute heaven! Once I had that thought in my head I just felt like they had to be floating in and on some beautiful puffy clouds!

To get started let’s stamp and color our focal image using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Pale Rose, Deep Red, Flesh Colour, Haze Blue, Smoky Teal, Lt Gray, Oatmeal, Beige, Mid Brown, Gray Brown.

Next we can cut out this image using a pair of detail scissors….leaving a small white border all the way around.

Now we can create our puffy clouds using the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Cloud Stackable Dies. I’ll show you how to line up the die in order to create the top tab for our card. I’ll also give you a few tips for sandwiching the clear acetate between this cluster of clouds. This acetate will create a nice sturdy yet see-through cover for our card. This creates a really unique and special look on your card!

For some additional clouds we will use the Lawn Fawn Cloudy Stencil and the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pad in Stormy Sky. Next, we can add some additional interest by using the Lawn Fawn Falling Hearts Stencils to add some pretty hearts to the sky.

We will be stamping the coordinating sentiment from this same stamp set and this says…”It’s a love thing”. So true!!!

Lawn Fawn – Wood You Be Mine? (w/ Distress Oxide Sprays)

In today’s video we will be using the brand new “Wood You Be Mine?” stamp and die sets. This little set has the most adorable little beavers and lots of fun coordinating elements to build a fun scene. It also includes several sentiments which coordinate perfectly with these little critters!

First let’s stamp and color in all of our images using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Bender, Sugared Almond Pink, Lt Violet, Smoky Yellow, Mid Green, Olive Green, Mustard, Beige, Mid Brown, Dk Brown, Gray Brown. Next we can die cut all of our images using the coordinating die set.

To create this beautiful sky we will be using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Sprays in Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac, and Villainous Potion.

Now we can add some beautiful metallic stars using Lawn Fawn Starry Sky Stencil and the Ranger Texture Paste in Metallic White. This paste goes on so easy and gives a beautiful result. For the star stencil we will be using the Lawn Fawn Starry Sky Stencil!

Next we can die cut the Lawn Fawn Stitched Mountain Borders and the Lawn Fawn Stitched Pond! We can quickly add some waves to our little pond using the images from this stamp set and emboss these with some white embossing powder.

To create our sentiment banner we will be using the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiments Banner Die along with the sentiment that says “Wood You Be Mine?”….so cute!!!

As a finishing touch, we can add a few of the Spellbinders Purple Opalescent Sequins!

Center Flap Valentine Card – Nuts About You

In today’s card we will be creating a fun “Center Flap” card! In the video I will be giving you all of the dimensions to create this unique fun flap card.

For our focal image we will be using this cute little squirrel from the Ai Nuts About You Stamp Set (4885). We will be stamping and coloring in this little critter using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Lt Carmine, Deep Vermilion, Lt Gray, Oatmeal, Beige, Mid Brown, Dk Brown. We can also stamp and color some little acorns to adorn our card!

We will be using a pretty striped patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn “All the Dots” Paper Pack. And also from Lawn Fawn we will be using the Guava and Paper Bag 100lb weight cardstocks for the card base and some layering.

To create the beautiful scalloped frame for our image we will be using the Ai Journal Rectangle Dies. Now we will die cut this several times and layer these together to give us a nice thick frame!

Next, to create the pretty scallop borders we will be using the Ai Journal Pocket Set Dies. I’ll show you how to extend this die in order to create a longer border. This is a great technique for extending the use of your small border dies!

Again, I will show you how to easily cut your cardstock in order to create this flap design. Now let’s add all of our layers and images. We can stamp our sentiments and heart banner from the same stamp set.

Finally, we can add some pretty pink sequins for added sparkle and shine!

Extending the use of your holiday stamps!!! (using Penny Black’s Darling Delivery Set)

Now that the holidays are over you may be looking at all of your stamps sets and wondering if you could use them for other occasions. Well I’m going to show the same card two different ways….one as a Christmas card and then with a few minor changes it will become a Valentine’s Day Card.

Today we will be creating a fun winter scene using the Penny Black Darling Delivery Stamp Set! This little stamp is just so cute! It also includes a few cute sentiments and we will be using both of them today… so our card will say “special delivery”….”just the first of many presents” on the Christmas Card and it will say “special delivery”…”sending love xoxo” for the Valentine version of our card!

To set the scene for our card we will be using the Hero Arts Bold Prints Snowflake Swirl Background Stamp. I’ll give you a few tips for inking these large solid images! We will ink the background using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot.

For our snow drifts, we will use the pretty Penny Black Wavy Stitched Edges Creative Dies. These dies can be used in a variety of creative ways!

Next we can stamp and color our images. For our coloring we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Deep Red, Haze Blue, Aquamarine Blue, Blue Gray, Smoky Yellow, Olive Green, Lt Gray, Mustard, Beige, Sand, Mid Brown.

Let’s add some pretty sequin snowflakes for added dimension and three little red hearts for a sweet touch! Now for the Valentine’s edition we will change out the little mistletoe in the birds beak with a small pink heart and then we will use the Tim Holtz idea-ology Label Stickers to create a new sentiment. Next we can add a cute little snowflake to the sentiment strip for bit more interest!
