Tunnel Card – Birdhouse Village Card!

Today we will be creating a super fun tunnel style card! This card design will allow us to use layers of ovals to look inside the card to see our pretty birdhouses!

Let’s grab our focal image from the brand new Ai Birdhouse Village Set (5739). This set is part of the Ai Watercolor Journal Series and includes this set of birdhouses and also includes some pretty little flowers which we will be using today.

Now we can stamp and color in our images. You will want to stamp several sets of the flowers! All of the coloring today will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Pale Rose, Lilac, Violet, Persian Green, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray, Gray Brown.

Next we can die cut all of the oval openings in our patterned papers using the Ai Nested Oval Dies (5727). I’ll be showing you some tips and tricks for die cutting the ovals in order to create this tunnel style card!

For patterned papers we will be using the brand new Ai Easter Journal Paper Pack (5742). We will grab the pretty pink striped paper and the lilac and pink polka dots!

For a bit of detail we will add a nice stitched border around our focal image which will show through to the front of the card!

To create the scalloped edge along the front of the card we will use the Ai Journal Template Die Set (5543)…this set has lots of borders and fun dies for adding cute elements to your cards and journals!

Let’s assemble the card and add a special sentiment to the inside and the outside of the card using a pretty blush pink embossing powder. These sentiments will come from the new sentiments sets called Ai Friend Set (5734) and the Ai Birthday Set (5735).

Alcohol Pearl Ink Blending – Spring Floral Slimline Card!

Today we will be creating a pretty slimline card using the Scrapbook.com Spring Floral Die! This slimline die is just gorgeous! It cuts out flowers, vines, and butterflies which can be used to create a second card. So it’s sort of a two for one die!

We will die cut this from some white 100lb cardstock and for the background we will be using some beautiful Tim Holtz Alcohol Pearl Inks!

Let’s start our background using some Ranger Alcohol Yupo Paper. This will allow our inks to blend more easily. We will use a combination of pretty colors.

First, we will add some alcohol blending solution to the Yupo paper and then we can add several drops of inks in a variety of colors. Now we can move this ink around using the Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink – Air Blower. This is very easy to use … just squeeze and it will easily move the ink around the paper. I’ll show you exactly how to do this in today’s video!

We can cut down the slimline panel and add our alcohol ink background and then add a layer of aqua colored cardstock. This will make the colors of the background pop out a bit more!

Now let’s layer this onto a slimline card in white 100lb cardstock.

Next we can add a “hello” sentiment using the Scrapbook.com Cards for Kindness Stamp Set. For the sentiment we will stamp it with Versamark Watermark Ink and emboss it with some white embossing powder onto some vellum paper.

Let’s use one of the white butterflies that was cut out of the die and add a second one with some vellum paper and glue these two together for added dimension.

Finally, we can add a light blue heart shaped gem from the Dress My Craft Heart Droplet Collection in Pastel Blue in the center of the butterfly.

Edge-to-Edge Shaker – Birthday Card!

Let’s create a fun and festive Edge-to-Edge Shaker Card today! We will be using the Ai Special Window Set (5451). This pretty party scene can also be used with all of the window dies and shadowbox dies in the Art Impressions collection! That makes this very versatile and will allow you to use this stamp in many different ways and today we will use it in another creative way!

First, we can stamp and color in our window scene! All of the coloring was done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Lt Violet, Lt Blue, Lt Green, Deep Green, Turquoise Green, Olive Green, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray.

Next, let’s gather up a few pretty patterned papers from the Ai Harvest Journal Series Paper Pack (5606) and Ai Halloween Journal Series Paper Pack (5605). We can die cut these papers using the Ai Square Double Stitched Dies (5061) and this will give us that nice stitched border around the edges.

Now the fun part….let’s create the edge-to-edge shaker element for this card. I’ll show you step by step in the video how to easily create this little pocket which will hold some pretty opalescent sequins in a variety of pastel colors!

We can now quickly assemble the card and add the gift packages and some additional sequins for added interest!

Pivot Pop-up Card – Bunnies and Chicks!

For my feature card today, and to kick off our new Ai Blog Challenge, we will be using some brand new images from the Art Impressions Spring 2023 Release to create a super fun and interactive PIVOT-POP UP card! This challenge is to create both the inside and front of your card….so this card will really highlight the inside of our card in a special way!

We’ve got the cutest little bunnies and chicks from the Bunny and Chicks Set (5737) and some festive Easter eggs and a cute little basket from the Easter Egg House Set (5738). These images are part of the Ai Watercolor Journal Series but we will be using them a bit differently today!

Let’s go ahead and stamp, color, and cut out all of our images using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Pink, Lemon Yellow, Yellow, Orange, Lt Violet, Purple, Lt Blue, Lt Green, Turquoise Green, Deep Green, Lt Brown, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray, Platinum Brown. We will leave a little white border all the way around the images when we cut them out.

To set the scene for our card we will be using the brand new Ai Easter Journal Series Paper Pack (5742). This paper is just perfect for Easter and Spring cards! Lots of pastels and pretty patterns! The sky will be die cut from the pastel blue polka dot paper and the ground will be a purple floral pattern. This will look like a beautiful field of flowers!

Now we can create the Pivot Pop-up mechanism for the inside of the card. I will give you all of the instructions for die cutting and assembling this mechanism in today’s video!

We can attach all of our cute little images to the card and pop-up. We will also die cut a collections of pretty clouds for the sky. On two of the clouds, on the front of the card, we will be stamping “Hippity” and “Hoppity” in a soft blue color. And for the inside of the card we will be using the brand new Ai Nested Oval Dies to create a cute place for our inside sentiment which says “Easter’s on its way!”. All of these sentiments are from the brand new Ai Easter Sentiments Set (5733).

Mushroom Cubbies Oval Frame Card – NEW RELEASE!!!

Today we will be using a the brand new Ai Mushroom Cubbies Set (5728) which is an adorable set of stamps and dies that includes a cute little mushroom house, a gnome, and several adorable bugs! It also includes some coordinating sentiments that will perfectly compliment your cards and projects!

We will be creating an oval shaped card with a woodgrain frame using the brand new Oval Dies Set (5727). We will be using a wonderful woodgrain paper and add some Distress Oxide Ink in Gathered Twigs to give it a more realistic look! In the video I will show you how to easily create this oval shaped card!

To set the scene for our card, we will be inking the background in Peeled Paint, Seedless Preserves, and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Inks. Let’s use some Post-it Labeling and Cover-up tape to mask off the sky and grass.

Next we can stamp, color and die cut all of our images. All of the coloring today will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Pale Rose, Yellow, Orange, Plum Mist, Dk Yellow, Ever Green, Lt Green, Green Gray, Dk Green, Lt Gray, Flesh Colour, Beige, Mid Brown, Mocha Brown, Gray.

Using a white gel pen we can add some details and highlights to the images!

Let’s assemble our card and cut just a sliver off the inside bottom panel of the card so that it will sit nicely on display without rolling around!

REVERSE FLIP CARD – Lawn Fawn – You’re the Zest Card!

For today’s card we will be creating a super fun “REVERSE FLIP CARD” using the Lawn Fawn “You’re the Zest” stamps and dies!

Let’s get started by stamping and coloring all of our little lemons. For the coloring we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Lemon Yellow, Yellow, Lt Brown, Dark Oatmeal, Lt Green, and Deep Green. I stamped and colored about a dozen lemons for the card front and inside of the card. Let’s also use our white gel pen to add a few dots to the lemons to make them pop a bit more!

Now we can create the card base for this reverse flip card design. I will show you exactly how to create this card and I will give you all of the measurements in the video.

For the background we will be using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink and Spray in Salvage Patina. This color will look so pretty with our yellow lemons!

We can create a few square layers for our sentiment which is included in the stamp set and it says “Squeeze the Day”. Now we can draw some pretty stitched lines around the sentiment for some added interest!

We will be using the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiments Banners to create the sentiment for the inside of our card. This sentiment will say “You’re the Zest” and also comes included with the stamp set.

This stamp set also comes with several cute little smiley faces that you can stamp on each of your lemons if you prefer that….this will give a more whimsical look to your card!

Next we can quickly assemble the card and a few baubles and sequins in yellow to coordinate with the lemons! This card would be great for a birthday card or best wishes card!

This finished card will need a bit larger envelope….approximately 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Keep in mind that the square envelopes and cards will cost you a bit more in postage!

NEW RELEASE – Cat Matchbook w/ Matching Envelope!

Today’s card and video were inspired by the current Ai Blog Challenge which is called the “Green Galore Challenge”. For this challenge we need to create a card or project using lots of green…in honor of St. Patrick’s Day…but any green will do. Just have fun with the color green!

I really wanted to challenge myself so I decided to use the BRAND NEW Matchbook Cats Set (5730). So our walls, furniture, pillows, rug, etc. will be done in a variety of greens. I would never have used this combination on my own without this challenge. That is why these challenges are so great…they really help you get inspired to look at your supplies in a whole new way…and maybe combine things together that you may not normally think of doing.

Just keep in mind that you will need the MB Template Dies (5317) to create the base of the card and you will need the MB Envelope Dies (5318) to create the coordinating envelope.

I will give you all of the instructions for assembling the little matchbook and envelope! These are so much fun to create and collect. There are LOTS AND LOTS of matchbook designs to choose from but this little cat set is brand new and just so very cute!

The new release also includes the following Matchbook Sets: MB Chicken (5731), and MB Tool Shed (5729)! These new sets are just so cute and will be a great addition to your Matchbook collection!

We will be using some absolutely beautiful papers today from the 49 and Market 6″x8″ Spectrum Sherbet Collection Pack – Tidal Wave set. These papers have all different shades of greens and turquoise greens which are perfect for this project!

All of the coloring was done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Emerald Green, Turquoise Green, Ever Green, Lt Green, Deep Green, Moss Green, Brick Beige, Beige, Lt Brown, Brown, Mid Brown, Lt Gray, Cool Gray #6.

Easy Watercolor Technique with 3-D Embossing Folders…and Hot Foiled Sentiments!

Hello and Welcome!!!

Today we will be creating two elegant embossed cards using a simple and easy watercolor technique!

To get started let’s take a look at the beautiful embossing folder that we will be using today which is the Sizzix 3-D Textured Impressions – Wildflowers.

Now we can open the embossing folder and apply some Tim Holtz Distress Ink (lighter color first) on the top portion of the folder and then we can run this through our die cutting machine. For the second card we will apply the ink to the top of the embossing folder and then spritz it with a bit of water and run it through.

For the first card we will be using a combination of the Kistch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry inks and for the second card we will be using the Scattered Straw and Abandoned Coral inks. These color combinations are just gorgeous but have some fun playing around with your favorite colors.

Next we can grab a #6 Round Brush and water to blend out the inks a little bit. Now let’s take the darker color and load the brush up with plenty of water and then pick up the darker color and apply some to the centers of the flowers and into some of the crevices of the embossing folder. You can apply as much or as little of this darker color as you like.

Now we can spatter each of these card panels with the darker color. We will use that same larger #6 brush so that we get some large spatters!

To create the sentiments we will be using the Creative Expressions “Smile” Wordies Sentiment Sheets. These sheets are loaded with sentiments and are designed to be used with your Hot Foiling System or simply used just the way they are.

In this video I will give you a few tips for foiling these sentiments. We will use the Spellbinders Glimmer Foil in Polished Brass and Silver.

Next we can assemble the card using some black cardstock to make the sentiment and the background pop out a little bit better!

Finally, let’s add a few pretty metallic gems from Pinkfresh Studio in Silver and Sparkling Champagne!
