Sweet Wishes Window Card!

Let’s create a sweet window card today using the Ai Sweet Wishes Set (4848) and the Ai Easter Chicks Set (5401). We can stamp our images using a white pigment ink and then emboss them with the Hero Arts White Satin Pearl powder. The pearl embossing powder gives this wreath and the other images such a soft elegant look!

Using the coordinating die from the Sweet Wishes set we can die cut out the center of the wreath to create an opening for the front of our card. We will need to cut the opening in the front panel and the card itself. I will show you exactly how to do this in today’s video!

Next, we can color the images with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Tea Rose, Lt Carmine, Yellow, Mustard, Pale Green, Lt Green.

Now we can use the coordinating dies, our detail scissors, a Xacto knife and cut our images. Let’s also cut a little slit in the chick so that we can place the individual rose in the chick’s hand/wing! We will be using some foam squares to pop-up the bow which will really complete this wreath nicely.

For a pretty background we will use a Hero Arts Blending Brush and the Hero Arts Key Lime Fizz ink to add some color around the edges of the panel. We will also spatter this panel with that same ink!

Let’s also cut another panel for the inside of the card using some Kiwi cardstock. We can blend this and spatter it the same way.

Our sentiment will say “Wishing you every bloomin’ thing!” and we will die cut this using the Ai Nested Square Dies (5725). The sentiment is from the Ai Mrs. Set (5405). We can add some white stitching around the sentiment using a white gel pen. This will give our sentiment a cute look! I’ll tell you a little secret about the sentiment choice and change in the video…shhh!

Finally, let’s add some Hero Arts White Pearls to the wreath for added bling and dimension. This white pearl matches the white satin pearl powder perfectly!

Tim Holtz Layered Stripes – Mixed Media Card!

Don’t put your Christmas dies away yet!!! We are going to be using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits – Layered Stripes die set on today’s card. This fun striped die was released as part of the Christmas 2023 collection from Tim Holtz. However, we are going to completely change the look of this die by creating a vintage mixed media card!

Let’s start by selecting a few pretty papers from the TH idea-ology – Backdrops #5 paper pack. We will only be using two of the dies in this set to cut the back panel from some yellow/mustard paper and the wider stripes from a pretty floral paper.

We will do a bit of inking around the edges of these panels using the TH Distress Oxide Ink in Gathered Twigs. This will give everything a vintage look!

Let’s also create the card base using the TH Distress Kraft Heavystock and ink this around the edges as well.

We will die cut a beautiful butterfly from the TH Sizzix Thinlits – Scribbly Butterflies die set. Now we can spatter both the panel and the butterfly using the Gathered Twigs ink and some Mica Stain in Crooked Broomstick (from the Halloween collection). This will tie everything together and the mica gives these a pretty shimmer!

Next, we will be adding some TH Rock Candy Glitter and a TH idea-ology Antique Gem to this butterfly.

Finally, let’s assemble the card with some pretty velvet ribbon from the TH idea-ology Velvet Trims and a wonderful sentiment from my favorite TH idea-ology – Quote Chips – Labels. The sentiment says, “There is Beauty in Simplicity”. This vintage card can be used for almost any occasion!

***NEW*** Art Impressions Watercolor Roses!

Today’s card was inspired by the new Art Impressions “You’re a Gem” Blog Challenge!  The challenge is to use a bit of bling on your card or project. I’m honored to be the featured artist for this fun new challenge!

I’ve got a beautiful brand-new watercolor set to show you from Art Impressions called WC Roses (5831). This set contains several different roses and a few leaves and sprigs. I love this little set because it is so versatile and can be used with so many of your other sets!

We are going to do a bit of simple water-coloring today using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Lt Pink, Peach Pink, Pink, Geranium Red, Scarlet Red, Yellow, Lt Green, Green. However, we will be using a water-brush and the Zigs together for a very loose watercolor look! I love this coloring technique because it is so easy and doesn’t have to be perfect.

While we have our Zigs at hand, we can add a few spatters in the pinks and yellow/red colors. This will tie everything together!

Let’s start by die cutting two panels using the Ai Nested Rectangle Dies (5724) in white and pink cardstock. We will stamp and emboss several roses from this new set using one of my favorite embossing powders in Liquid Platinum. We will stamp the two panels at the same time using the MISTI stamp positioner. This will make the stamping so much quicker and easier. But most importantly it will allow the two panels to be exactly the same and this will be important when we cut the pink cardstock at an angle.

Let’s cut the pink panel … and I will show you exactly how I measured and cut these angles for a fun and unique look on our card!

Now we can pop-up the pink onto the white panel using some 3D Foam Tape for some added interest and dimension.

Next we can add a layer of pretty metallic silver cardstock and attach this whole piece to a white card.

Let’s add a cute little tag using the Ai Journal Template Die Set (5543) and a sentiment using the Ai Birthday Sentiments Set (5735). We can also stamp this tag with another rose using the same WC Roses set.

Finally, let’s add more bling by adding a few shiny silver metallic pearls and a few dots of silver using the Signo Gel Pen!

Pand-tastic Day Card w/ Ta-Da Diorama!

I’ve got this super fun “Ta-Da Diorama” card style to show you today using the adorable Ai Pand-tastic Set (5113) which includes the two panda stamps that we will be using today. When you pull back the side panels it will reveal the trio of celebrating pandas and a cute little sentiment. The sentiment we will say ” Hope your day is Pand-tastic” and is from this same stamp set.

Let’s begin by stamping and coloring the trio of pandas and the single panda. All of the coloring will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Lt Carmine, Sugared Almond Pink, Lt Gray, Cool Gray 3, Cool Gray 6.

Next, we will create the card base and the “Ta-da Diorama” from the Lawn Fawn collection. I will give you step-by-step instructions in today’s video. It looks a bit complicated, but it is really very simple and fun to do!

Valentine Bears Card w/ Simon Hurley’s Lunar Paste Background!

Let’s stamp and color the adorable little bears from the Ai Valentine Bears Set (5005). There are several cute bears in this set including one in a coffee cup, one holding a banner of hearts and the one that we will be using today of the bears holding the letters to spell the word “LOVE”. We will be stamping this image onto a stitched rectangle from the Ai Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies (5063). While we have this die set out, we can cut the largest panel for our background and a layering panel as well. All of these will be cut from some Strathmore Bristol Smooth 100lb Cardstock.

All of the coloring will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Wine Red, Blossom Pink, Bright Yellow, Scarlet Red, Smoky Teal, Dk Agate, May Green, Green, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray.

Once these are colored in, we can use a white gel pen to add some little polka dots to the letters and to add a few highlights to the images.

Next, we can add a cute sentiment to this colored panel using the same stamp set and we will be masking the stamp so that we can stamp “Paws-ing to say…” on the front of the card and “Happy Valentine’s Day” on the inside of the card. We can also grab the “XOXO” sentiment and stamp and color that on the inside as well.

Let’s add some pretty pink ink around the edges of these two panels using a blending brush. We can also spatter these panels with that same ink!

Now we will be creating our beautiful background using the Simon Hurley Lunar Paste in a pretty hot pink called “Prom Queen”. For our stencils we will be using the Lawn Fawn Falling Heart Stencils. This paste has a mica base and will dry with a beautiful shimmer!

Let’s also add a hot pink scalloped border to our card panel using the border die from the Ai Journal Template Die Set (5543).

We can assemble this card using some 3D Foam Tape for some added dimension and add a pretty bow with some shimmery ribbon.

Finally, let’s add some Hero Arts Pearls in white for a bit more fun and interest!

Hero Arts Peonies Bunch – Coloring w/ Distress Watercolor Pencils

Let’s get started by stamping this beautiful image from the Hero Arts Peonies Bunch Stamp Set and we can also grab the coordinating die set! There is a stencil set available for some easy coloring, however, we are going to do the coloring ourselves using the Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Pencils in the following colors: Picket Fence, Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Rustic Wilderness, Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron, Fired Brick. These pencils come in three beautiful sets and are fun and easy to use!

The coloring will take a little bit of time but it is well worth it. But do keep in mind that you could use the coordinating stencil as mentioned above. I’ll show you a few tricks and tips for using these pencils and I’ll also show you how to do an easy highlighting technique!

To create the background we will be stamping the Hero Arts “Script” Bold Prints Stamp onto some Hero Arts Cardstock in Paradise and then embossing it with some white embossing powder. This background stamp is a great staple to have in your stash!

Now we can use a blending brush to go around the edges of this panel with some Hero Arts Reactive Ink in Blue Raspberry. Let’s also spatter this panel with that same ink and also some white ink. While we have the white ink out, let’s also spatter the flowers, to tie everything together!

Next, we can stamp the “Thank you” sentiment from that same stamp set onto some vellum paper and emboss with the white embossing powder.

We can assemble the vellum sentiment strip to this panel and pop-up the flowers with some 3D Foam Tape.

Finally, let’s add some Hero Arts – Hero Pearls in white for added interest and dimension!
