Mixing Your Christmas, Fall & Halloween Stamp Sets!

Let’s have some fun today and combine several of our Art Impressions stamp sets to create a cute Autumn card! We will combine the brand-new Ai Santa’s Workshop Set (5930), Ai Woodland Tree Cubbies Set (5100), Ai Spooky Wagon Set (5456), and the Ai Foxes Set (5951). As you can see, we will be combining Christmas, Halloween and Fall sets together to create this special card!

It’s fun to look through your sets and see what you can combine together for a unique look on your cards. You can be sure that no one else will create a card just like yours and it’s a great way to get more out of the sets you may already have. Sometimes just adding one new set (like these cute little elves) to your collection can give you many more possibilities for your cards and projects.

We will be using the Christmas elves, the woodland tree cubbies, the pumpkins and leaves! To get started let’s stamp, color and die cut all our images from the various sets. We will be coloring them using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Dk Blossom Pink, Scarlet Red, Yellow, Flesh Colour, Mustard, Sand, Beige, May Green, Green, Olive Green, Persian Green, Smoky Teal, Dull Blue, Aquamarine Blue, Mid Brown, Dk Gray, Lt Gray, Red Grape, Deep Red Grape.

Next, we will create a simple, yet gorgeous sky using some Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock and the Tim Holtz Distress Mini Ink Pads in Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers, and the grass using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. We will do an ink “smooshing” technique which is where you apply the ink to your glass media mat and then you will “smoosh” the colors onto the mat and spritzing them with a bit of water and then lay your paper over top of this ink. The results are amazing, and it really is quite easy. It will give us the perfect cloudy sky and green grass. I’ll show you this in today’s video!

Our square card will measure 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and will be made from some heavy weight kraft cardstock. Next, let’s attach our 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ sky and grass to the card.

Finally, we can go ahead and assemble the card by adding the leaves to the tree, the little elves in the doors and windows, and the little pumpkins. For the sign post we will mask off the word “Boooo!” and add the word “Autumn” instead. I’ll show you how to do this in the video as well.

I hope this card has inspired you to dig through your stash and build a fun seasonal scene using some stamps and dies that you may already have!

Woodland Critters Gift Card Holders!

Today we will be creating 3 festive holiday gift card holders using the brand-new Ai Woodlands Critters Set (5953). This cute set has several woodland critters and several coordinating sentiments. The set also includes the matching dies!

Let’s begin by creating the gift card pocket using the Ai Gift Card Pocket Set (5811) and some heavy weight kraft cardstock. We will also die cut an additional piece to turn this pocket into a folding card! I will show you exactly how to do this in today’s video.

Now we can select some pretty holiday papers to cover the front and back of the card. Again, I will show you how to easily cut these papers to fit perfectly on your card.

Next, we can select 3 images from this stamp set and stamp, color and die cut our images. To do our coloring today, we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Yellow, Orange, Sugared Almond Pink, Deep Vermillion, May Green, Deep Green, Dark Green, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray Cool Gray 6.

Using the brand-new Ai Portfolio Template Set (5952), we will grab 2 label dies and the circle ornament die. I will give you a closer look at all of the dies that are included in the set…and there are a ton of them! The set was designed to create a portfolio, but I love using the individual dies in these sets for a multitude of projects!

Once these have been die-cut we will ink around the edges with some “cup ‘o joe” brown ink and then we can add our images to the front of each. Once we have glued them in place we can trim away any excess and then we will add a set of leaves and holly berries to each one. We will also be adding the leaves and holly berries to the back of the gift card holder and the inside of the card as well.

Let’s go ahead and spatter the cards with some bleed proof white ink and stamp some cute little sentiments on the front and inside of each of the cards using that same stamp set.

Next, let’s add our images to each of the cards…and for the “ornament” critter we will add a string and bow using a permanent black marker!

These fun, festive, holiday gift card holders are perfect for friends, family, and co-workers alike!

Christmas Magic Wreath – Using Elegant Earth Tones!

For today’s card and video, we will be creating a soft, elegant, earth toned Christmas wreath. If you want to get away from the typical reds and greens for your Christmas cards, you may want to have some fun by combining some earth tones and metallics for a different, yet beautiful look!

We will talk a little bit about some tricks and tips for mass-producing your holiday cards in today’s video as well!

Let’s get started by stamping our images using the Ai WC Poinsettia Set (5828) and the Ai WC Christmas Wreath Set (5472). We will be coloring the images using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Beige, Mid Brown, Olive Green, Mid Green, Brown.

We will stamp several sets of the poinsettia, leaves/sprigs, and pinecones because we will be creating 3 cards today! Once all of the coloring is done, we will use our detail scissors to cut these out, leaving a small white border around the edges.

Next, we can create all of the layers for our cards using the Tim Holtz Distress Kraft Heavystock, Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock, and some pretty Tim Holtz Metallic Cardstock in copper. These pretty stitched border layers will be die-cut using the Ai Square Double Stitched Dies (5061). For the metallic layer we will create a frame for our wreath, and I will show you how to do this in the video.

On the white layer we will stamp the twig wreath using the Ai Frameworks Set 1 (5420). To color the wreath quickly and easily we will just using a small blending brush and add some oxide ink all around. Let’s also spatter this panel for a bit more interest!

Now the fun part, attaching all of the layers and creating our pretty poinsettia floral arrangement. We can also add one of the pinecones to the inside of the card and stamp the “Christmas Blessings to you and yours” sentiment using the Ai Christmas Sentiments (5566) Set.

And for a finishing touch, let’s add some pretty champagne pearls!

Tim Holtz Mixed Media Christmas – Easel Card!

Let’s create a festive mixed media holiday card today! This will be an interactive easel card, and I will show you exactly how to create this design in today’s video!

Let’s start by die cutting several greens from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits – Festive Gatherings and Festive Words Die Sets. For the greenery we will be coloring all of the pieces using the Tim Holtz Distress Inks in a variety of colors. This is a quick and easy way to color the die cut pieces! I’ll also show you a little trick for making it even easier to color these pieces.

To add even more interest and texture to these die cuts we will add some clear dimensional glaze to some of the berries, as well as some white dimensional pearl to a few of the others. And for the pine needles, we will add some sparkle and texture with the Tim Holtz Mica Flakes. This will give the branches an icy, wintery look!

The card base will be made using the TH Kraft Heavystock and the attached “easel” portion of the card will be created using the TH Mixed Media Heavystock. Once we have cut and scored these pieces of the card, we will be using the TH Christmas Backdrops papers to create some pretty layers. I will give you all of the dimensions and measurements for the card base, easel, and patterned paper layers in the video.

For the “Hello Winter” sentiment we will be using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits – Festive Words die set and attach it to some red metallic cardstock from the TH Kraft-stock Metallic Colors.

Finally, let’s go ahead and assemble the card and all of our fun embellishments. We will also add a few sticker sentiments and some pretty velvet ribbon from the TH idea-ology Velvet Trims!

Today we will be using the brand-new Ai Foxes Set (5951) to create a fun little tag card! This wonderful set includes several foxes, some branches and twigs, two little birds, a tree stump, and two Fall greetings!

I thought it would be fun to put a little different twist on these fox by creating some arctic foxes which are also known as Polar Fox, Snow Fox and White Fox. These are the most beautiful white colored fox, and I thought it would be a great way to create a soft, peaceful winter scene for today’s tag card!

Let’s stamp the images and do some really easy coloring on the sleeping foxes using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Lt Gray. We will stamp the images using a gray ink pad, to again, keep the scene very muted.

We will die cut three tags from the Ai Tag Stitched Dies (5132), and we will create a pretty background on the first one and the card base with the other two tags. I will show you exactly how to assemble this tag card in today’s video!

To set the scene, let stencil the birch tree background using a two-part stencil from the Lawn Fawn collection. This stencil set will allow us to create the sky using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Speckled Egg, Stormy Sky and Chipped Sapphire.

Using the second part of the stencil to add the trees, let’s add some Distress Oxide Inks in Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke. To add some more interest to the trees let’s spatter with the gray and add some Black Soot as well.

We will add some snow to this background using some bleed proof white ink. But to take it to the next level we will using the Lawn Fawn Snowy Background Stencil and some Tim Holtz “Snowfall” Grit Paste to add some dimensional snowflakes with a glittery look!

For the sentiments, we will be using the Ai Animal Nativity Set (5350). We will stamp them onto some gray cardstock and emboss with white ink and white embossing powder. The dies for the sentiments are from the Ai Decorative Journal Page 2 Set (5809) and the Ai Journal Template Set (5543).

We can die cut a few snowy borders, tear them, add a bit of ink and sparkle to them as well.

Let’s assemble the card, which again I will show you in today’s video, and add some blue velvet ribbon, white twine, a jingle bell, and some pretty sparkly gems!

Spooky Fun w/ Stenciling and Glitter Paste!

Today we will be creating a spooky fun card using some beautiful glitter paste! But first, we will select some gray cardstock and apply some Distress Oxide Inks in Hickory Smoke and Black Soot. Sometimes it is fun to switch out your cardstock background colors when doing your stenciling and these two colors on the gray cardstock will give us a great look!

To set the scene, let’s add some clear glitter paste over the top of the stencil. This will pick up a bit of the black and gray and add a perfect sparkle to our spiderweb. We can set this aside to dry…but be sure to take a little bit of time to clean off all of your tools and stencils right away!

Next, we will be using the new Ai Spooky Crew Set (5934). This set has several critters popping out of pumpkins as well as a spooky tree, cottage, and several coordinating sentiments. We will be using the little cat today but any of these would work great for this card design.

Let’s go ahead and stamp, color and die cut all of the images. For the coloring we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Orange, Scarlet Red, Pale Green, May Green, Deep Violet, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray, Dk Gray.

Before we add the stenciled background to the card, we will wrap some pretty purple twine around and tie it into a bow.

Next, we will die cut a black frame using the Journal Oval Frames Dies (5588) and for the inside of the frame we will use the purple and gold star paper from the Ai Halloween S2 Paper Pack (5849).

Let’s assemble the card using some double-sided tape and pop up the framed cat using some 3D Foam Squares.

Now we can add a few sparkly stars and pretty sequins to this front panel, and this will just bring everything together nicely!

As a final step, let’s lightly stencil the inside of the card and add a sentiment that says, “Wishing you a spooktacular Halloween!” and the spooky tree that we had previously colored and die cut. This will finish off the inside of the card perfectly. We can also add the “Spooky” sentiment to the front of the card!
