Baby Keepsake Easel Card!

Let’s take a look at this fun new Ai Baby Keepsake Set (6109) which includes a little teddy bear, lamb, adorable giraffe and several sweet sentiments! This set is part of the “Keepsake” series of stamp and die sets. I have done a few cards with two of the other sets including the Fall and Christmas Keepsake Sets and I will link those videos below for you. The best part is that you can mix and match these sets for a unique look. Each set includes a bucket, barrel or basket that can be filled with the floral arrangements in the set or any of the critters!

To begin, we will stamp, color and die cut the images. All of the coloring will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Pink Haze, Sugared Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Flesh Colour, Yellow, Orange, Mustard, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray, Warm Gray #4, Sea Green, Lilac, Lt Green.

We will be creating a fun easel card so that the recipient can display it in a baby’s room or on any table! For the card base, let’s die cut the pretty scalloped oval from the Ai Scalloped Oval Dies (6046) using some sparkle cardstock. Also, using some cute “clouds” patterned paper from the Ai Baby Girl PP (6057) we will die cut a smaller oval using the Ai Nested Oval Dies (5727). And let’s die cut a small portion of that same oval die from some pink and white gingham paper. This will ground our little scene nicely!

Let’s go ahead and layer up the card using a combination of 3D Foam Squares and adhesive. This will give us lots of dimension and interest.

For the sentiment we will use the Ai Scalloped Circle Dies (6045) and this will say “Cuddles and Cuteness”.

Let’s also add some pretty ribbon to the top of the scalloped oval and tie a sweet little bow! We can also die cut the easel using the Ai Mini Rectangle Frame Dies (5901). You may want to die cut this a few times, once with some plaid pattern paper and once with some heavyweight white cardstock. This will give a bit more stability to your easel design.

Finally, we will add some Diamond Confetti for sparkle and added cuteness!

“Love” Postage Stamp Card!

Let’s create our very own “Love” Postage Stamp today using the beautiful new Ai His Love Stamp Set (6150), which is part of the Bible Journaling Series. From this wonderful set we will be using the heart-shaped roses wreath, the “Love” sentiment, and the tiny hearts background stamp!

To begin, we will stamp and color the heart wreath using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Lemon Yellow, Yellow, Scarlet Red, Ever Green, Mid Green, Deep Green.

Once the wreath is colored, we can die cut the fun postal design using the Scrapbook.com Nested Stitched Stamp Die Set. This die will cut the center separately from the frame, which I absolutely love, because we can easily ink around the edges of the rectangle without having to mask off any of the postage stamp.

We will ink the edges using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs. This will frame the design nicely.

We can attach the frame and the center piece together using some 1/4″ Double Sided Tape and then we can pop up the entire postage stamp using some 3D Foam Tape.

But before we attach this to the card, let’s create the standard A2 size card base and a kraft colored layer which we will stamp with the tiny hearts background stamp from this same set.

Once the panel is stamped, we will spatter the panel with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter and also some white ink. We will also add some of the Gathered Twigs ink around the edges.

Now let’s pop-up the postage stamp onto the card, on a little bit of an angle and add a few “gold” sparkly gems to the wreath and around the edges of the card. This will add some dimension and pretty sparkle!

Creating a Party Favor/Gift Card Holder using the Ai Box Village Set!

Today we will be using the brand-new Art Impressions Box Village Template Die Set (6114) to create a fun Party Favor/Gift Card Holder! This project would be a great Valentine’s gift or housewarming gift.

We will die cut with all of the dies needed to create the village box and then I will show you how to create a box insert to house your candies and gift card … or anything else you might want to put in here. Maybe a card or a small gift! I will give you all of the dimensions in the video so that your box insert will fit snuggly in the bottom of the house and I will also show you how to make it easy to slide this in and out of the house!

For decorative papers, we will be using the Ai Valentine’s Paper Pack (5741). For some added interest to the front door, we will use the tiny heart wreath from the Ai Front Porch Valentine’s Set (5493) and add a cute little twine bow!

Let’s also add a sentiment behind the front door using the Ai Front Porch Set (5512) and it will say “Home Sweet Home”… but again you could substitute this with any sentiment that suits the occasion.

To create some sparkle lets add a few pale pink gems along the roof line and some red hearts to each of the windows.

For my little box insert, I used some paper shreds in pink, added some candies, and a gift card!

Lawn Fawn – “Micey Nice” Valentine’s Card!

Let’s have some fun today using the adorable new “Valentine Mice” stamps, stencils and dies from Lawn Fawn!

To begin, we will stamp and color the images using the coordinating stencil set. This makes the coloring so easy to do. Just line up the stencils with your little critters and stencil away! For inks we will be using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar, Festive Berries, and Hickory Smoke.

Next, we can die cut the images with the coordinating dies. Let’s set these aside while we create this wonderful foursquare frame using the Lawn Fawn Foursquare Backdrop: Portrait. We will die cut the frame from some Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock and color each of the squares using the TH Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers. This will give us a pretty sky as the backdrop for our little scene.

We will layer up 3 to 4 frames so that we get some nice dimension on the frame. Let’s also ink the edges and spatter the frame.

We can glue the frame onto our card base, add the four “sky” squares and then add our die cut images and clouds from that same backdrop die set. Be sure to stamp your sentiment before you place the sky into the frame. I used the sentiments that are from this same stamp set. The front of the card says, “Sending Love Your Way…” and the inside says, “For Valentine’s Day!”.

Now we will die cut the beautiful Lawn Faw Quilted Heart Border from some “Ballet Slippers” cardstock and the place some “Raspberry” cardstock behind the border. Be sure to keep the little hearts that are die cut from this border and add them to the four squares!

Attach the border to the bottom of the card and add some pretty LF Hemp Twine in white just above this border.

As a finishing touch, we can add some sparkle to the little hearts using the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen!

Easy Paper Piecing & Partial Die-Cutting Card!

Today we will be creating a pretty flap card using a few simple techniques, including some easy paper piecing and some simple partial die-cutting. This will be a fun card especially for those of you who don’t love coloring!

We will begin by creating the card base, which will be a top folding A2 size card. Next, we will partially die cut the bottom of a scalloped heart. The heart die is from the Ai Nested Heart Dies (5721) Set. I will show you exactly how to do this in today’s video! Once we have die-cut the bottom of the scalloped heart we will need to use our paper trimmer to cut away the excess cardstock from both sides of the card. This will create the look of a flap!

Now we can die cut another scalloped heart in Raspberry cardstock. Let’s also grab the next largest heart die from this set and die cut this from some Ballet Slipper and white cardstock.

We can layer the raspberry and ballet slipper hearts together and now we will stamp the teacup from the Ai Tea Time Set (6024). Let’s stamp this 3X so that we can do some simple paper piecing. For all of the pattern papers on this card, we will be using the Ai Valentine’s Paper Pack (5741). Again, I will show you how to do this simple technique in the video!

Now that the teacup is done, we can pop it up onto the two hearts that have been glued together. We can now tie some Dusty Rose Twine around the bottom of the heart and tie a bow. Let’s also add some pretty dots around the two hearts using a white gel pen.

Now we will cut the layers for the inside and outside of the card. I selected a nice gingham plaid for the inside and a pretty coordinating floral for the outside. Let’s also quickly stamp a sentiment onto the card front. I am creating a thank you card …. but this design would be perfect for Valentine’s Day, Anniversary, or even a friendship card!

Now we can finish assembling the card, making sure to line the scalloped heart up with the partially die cut scalloped heart on the card front.

I added the extra white heart to the inside of the card. I left mine blank, but you could certainly add another sentiment here or write a sweet note!

For a finishing touch, we can add some pretty pink sequins for a bit of sparkle!

Cute as a Button – Shaker Card!

I’m really excited to be the featured artist for the next wonderful Ai Blog Challenge. This new “Button Up” Challenge is asking us to use real buttons, or images with buttons, patterned papers with buttons, or even a button die, which we will be using today!

We will be creating some cute little shaker windows for our baby pandas and a wonderful cake! This card can be used for Valentine’s Day, Birthday, or a Friendship card!

To begin, we will stamp, die cut, and color the images. For the coloring we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Lt Pink, Wine Red, Oatmeal, Dk Oatmeal, Lt Gray, Dk Gray.

Now we can create the cute sweater background using a wonderful stencil from Lawn Fawn and some pretty Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink in Kitsch Flamingo. Once the panel is stenciled, we can add a darker pink color around the edges using the Simon Hurley Ink Pad in Prom Queen. That will frame this panel nicely. For some added interest we will spatter this panel with the Tim Holtz Distress Spritz in Kitsch Flamingo and that same Prom Queen ink.

Next, let’s stamp three dotted circles from the Ai Frameworks Set 2 (6026) and then using the Ai Nested Circle Dies (5726) we can die cut a circle in the center of each of the dotted circles. These circles will allow us to create three little circle shakers on the front of the card!

I’ll show you exactly how to create the shaker portions of this card in today’s video. We will add some pretty Pink & Main Confetti to each of the shaker pockets using Prom Dress, Diamond, Christmas Red. I’ll also show you a little trick for easily lining up the shaker element to your card!

We can attach the shaker panel to a square card base. Let’s also add a sentiment that says, “You’re the BEARY BEST!” which will be stamped onto some black cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder and die cut as a banner using the Ai Journal Template Die Set (5543). We can also stamp another small “Sending Love!” sentiment onto the card front.

Now we will create a pretty twine bow using the Lawn Fawn Dusty Rose Hemp Twine. To this bow we will add a cute little button. This button will be die cut from the Ai Sew Mini Dies (5326) and inked with that same Prom Queen ink so that everything will match perfectly! I layered several buttons dies together for a thicker, more realistic button. We can add a few white polka dots to this button using a white gel pen.

Let’s attach the button to our pretty bow and then add this to the banner sentiment. We can pop-up the sentiment banner with some small 3D foam squares for added dimension.

For a finishing touch, lets add some glaze to the heart on the cake and a bit of glitter, and also a few sprinkles using our black gel pen.

By adding just that one simple button we have really added some fun, sweet dimension and interest! Don’t forget to join us in this fun challenge…we would love to see what you create!
