WISDOM – Graduation Card!

Today’s card was inspired by the current Ai “Feeling Crafty” Blog Challenge which is to create a card using Kraft colored cardstock. This gives us plenty of freedom to have lots of fun!

We will be creating a vintage looking graduation card and to begin we will be using two brand-new Bible Journaling Sets. They are the Wisdom Set 1 which includes two beautiful scrolls, a tree, bible, “WISDOM” sentiment, flowers, leafy border, and gems! Set 2 includes several beautiful coordinating sentiments.

Let’s begin by stamping the long scroll, the owl and a grad cap (Lawn Fawn). For the coloring, we will use the Zig clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Bright Yellow, Beige, Mid Brown, Gray Brown, Dark Gray.

Next, we will stamp the “WISDOM” sentiment and then start adding some vintage elements to the front panel. To do this, we will distress the edges of the panel and add some ink blending. We will also spatter this panel with the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs, and gold metallic ink.

Let’s also create a few tears in the paper and roll them back for again that aged, vintage look!

We will also stamp a sentiment in the scroll, and I used a stamp from Tim Holtz that I’ve had in my stash for many years. Use any sentiment that you wish here. You can even use one from the wonderful Wisdom Set 2.

For the card base, we will use some Kraft cardstock and create a top folding A2 size card and ink the edges with the Gathered Twigs ink.

Let’s assemble the pieces onto the card front and pop-up the scroll, owl and grad cap. At this point I thought that the card needed one more element. So I decided to paint some cardstock with the gold metallic ink and die-cut a star. This will blend in nicely with the spattering that we have already done.

We will create a panel for the inside of the card the same way we create the front panel and add a sentiment from Set 1 that says: “Seek Wisdom”. This will get stamped onto a pretty label from the Ai Portfolio Template Die Set.

For a finishing touch, let’s add some sparkly gold sequins!

Village Vehicles Graduation/Promotion Card!

Today we will be using the brand-new stamp set from the Art Impressions Village Series! This set is called the Ai Village Vehicles Set (5889) and includes several little trucks, cars and even an airplane which will coordinate perfectly the new FREEBIES! These new FREEBIES include several different village houses/shops including a schoolhouse, cafe, hotel, candy shop, bakery and pet shop. Here’s the fun part …there are three add-on sets that will coordinate with these FREEBIE stamps. The Village Vehicles (5889) which we will be using today and also the Village Accessories (5890) and the Village Signage (5891).

These FREEBIES will be free with each $30 purchase and the add-on sets can be purchased as a bundle or individually. The bundle set will be at a discounted price. I will list all of these options for you down below!

We are going to use the little vehicles in a unique and different way to create a fun Graduation or even a promotion card!

Let’s begin by stamping and coloring in all of the vehicles using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Lemon Yellow, Yellow, Orange, Geranium Red, Lt Green, Dk Green, Haze Blue, Aquamarine Blue, Blue, Cool Gray 6, Lt Gray.

We can then use our detail scissors to cut these out leaving a little bit of a white border all the way around.

Next, we can create the background panel by die cutting a circle from some white cardstock which has been cut to 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″. We can use the Ai Nested Circle Dies (5726) and center this circle die on the square panel.

Let’s then create a pretty sunburst background using the Lawn Fawn Sunray Background Stencil and some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Abandoned Coral. We will stencil half of the panel and then turn the stencil and complete the other half to create a complete circle sunburst!

Now let’s stamp a globe using the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Schoolhouse Blueprints Set. We can the color this and die cut it using that same circle die set. We will also add some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen to the water on our globe!

For the card base we will use a pretty Arctic 100lb Cardstock. This card will measure 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. We can temporarily position the frame and the globe so that we can add a sentiment from the Ai Graduation Set (5277) to the front of the card that will say “You’re really going places!”. We can cut the stamp in half so that we can position the sentiment on a curve right above the globe.

Now let’s do a quick assembly of the card and pop-up the vehicles in a circle around the globe and sunburst. I also added a few vehicles on the inside of the card along with another sentiment from the Ai Graduation Set (5277) which says, “Look out world!”.

For a finishing touch, let’s add some Scrapbook.com – Pop of Color in Sunshine for a bit of dimension and …. don’t tell anyone …. to also cover up a little smudge that I had!

Tim Holtz Mixed Media Mini Clipboard w/ Stampers Anonymous Curiosity Shop!

Let’s create a mixed media clipboard today using several wonderful products from Tim Holtz!

The main focal image for today’s project will be the vintage typewriter from the brand-new Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous – Curiosity Shop Stamp Set. I absolutely love this new stamp set which includes extra-large numbers, a four-leaf clover, pointing fingers, light bulbs, top hats, and sentiments!

We will add several layers of interest with some Tim Holtz Ephemera, Papers, Stickers, Pearls, Metal, Mica Spray and so much more!

To highlight the typewriter theme we will also use the Tim Holtz Sizzix 3D Texture Fades – Typewriter Embossing Folder and the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous – Documented Stamp Set.

There are just so many layers and elements that I will just refer you to the video for all of the details and instructions. This video is a little bit longer than my usual videos but again there are just so many fun details and I wanted to show you all of them!

Tim Holtz Sparkle and Wine Card!

Let’s play with the brand-new Tim Holtz 3D Texture Fades “Sparkle” Embossing Folder! We are going to “double” emboss this folder on our card today.

We will start by running the embossing folder through the die cutting machine as we would normally do. Next, we will use the Tim Holtz Embossing Pen and Embossing Glazes to add another layer of embossing. All we need to do is apply some embossing ink (from the embossing pen) to the high spots on the cardstock and then apply some embossing glaze in a variety of bright colors. Heat set this and check out the wonderful dimension, color and shine that you get!

Keep in mind that you could totally change the look of this embossing folder. For example, this would be beautiful with gold, silver and copper for a more elegant look! Have some fun with this!

Let’s ink up the card panel using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire. Remember to wipe off the excess ink from the embossed areas because the ink just won’t dry on the embossing glaze.

Now we can stamp and color the wine bottle and wine glass and color them using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Wine Red, Deep Red, Yellow, Mustard, Beige, Mid Brown, Haze Blue. These images are from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous – Cling Mounted Rubber Stamp Set – Wine Blueprint and Strip sets. Although these images have been around for a bit, they are absolute classics and make a great addition to your crafty stash.

We will add the sentiment using the Tim Holtz idea-ology Theories Quote Chips which will say “love with all your heart”. Just ink the edges a bit to finish off this quote chip.

Next, we can assemble the card panel onto a black card base, and we will also add a few sparkly hearts to each of the wine glasses using the Buttons Galore & More Red Hearts.

This card would be great for New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Anniversary, Wedding, Congratulations, Birthday and so much more!!!

Lawn Fawn Build-A-Drink Cocktail Add-on Card!

Today we will be creating another fun tropical drink card using the Lawn Fawn Build-a-drink Cocktail Add-on set! This set compliments the original Lawn Fawn Build-a-drink set and includes a fun shaped glass as well as fruit, foliage, cherry and pick!

To set the scene for today’s card we will be using the Lawn Fawn Beach Sunset Stencil Set! This stencil set will allow us to create the most beautiful beach scene complete with the ocean, sky, sun and sand!!! It also includes the ability to create some palm trees…which we will not be using today…but would be perfect for your tropical scenes.

Let’s begin with the background using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pads. For the water we will use Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, and Villainous Potion. Be sure to take your time blending these colors for the best results. Next, for the sun let’s grab the Picked Raspberry, Festive Berries and Squeezed Lemonade. And the sand will be done using the Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs and Ground Espresso. The liquid in the drink will be created using the Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron. I’ll show you some easy tricks and tips in the video for using your stencil to get the best results!

We will do a bit of spattering to add some interest to the sea and sand.

Let’s add a lime, cherry and foliage for color, interest and dimension. We will also grab a starfish, sand dollar and clam shell from the Lawn Fawn Life is Good stamp set.

Next we can add the “Let’s Celebrate” sentiment using the Lawn Fawn Elephant Parade Add-on stamp set. I’ll show you and easy technique for stamping this in an arched shape on your card.

Finally let’s do a quick assembly of all of our pieces and sit back and dream of summer!!!

Tim Holtz Road Trip … w/ Mountain Scene Layering Stencil!

I’m so excited to be showing a couple of great products! We will be using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits Road Trip Colorize die set today! This set is absolutely fantastic and includes the dies needed to create this fun car and some clouds, trees and a cute little sign! If you haven’t used these colorize dies yet you will see how easy it is to do….and it is so much fun!

And I’m equally as excited to show you this amazing 4-part Layering Mountain Scene Stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop! I’ll give you a few tips for stenciling this in today’s video. This stencil is so versatile and could be used with so many of our stamp sets.

To do all of the coloring today we will be using several of the TH Distress Oxide Ink Pads! We will quickly spatter the background of the scene using the Dr Ph Martin’s Bleed Proof White Ink. This will just bring everything together.

We will be creating a woodgrain frame for the scene using the Th Distress Woodgrain Cardstock. I’ll show you some tips for coloring this cardstock and creating a realistic woodgrain look! And for the road at the bottom of the card we will be using the TH 3-D Texture Fades Embossing Folder – Cobblestone #2. This will add lots of texture and dimension! We can a bit of ink to this panel for a more realistic look!

Now we can die cut all of the pieces needed to create the car and sign. I’ll show you how to easily assemble these in the video.

Finally we can wrap some twine around the bottom of the card and add a little charm from the TH idea-ology – Word Tags. Let’s also add a metal star to the sign which is from the TH idea-ology Adornments – Stars and also add the “good life” sentiment to the sign using the TH idea-ology Remnant Rubs – Tiny Text.

Art Impressions Lift the Flaps Slimline Graduation Shaker Card!

In todays video we will be creating a fun graduation shaker card with some cute interactive flaps that will reveal our sweet giraffe, owl and elephant images! This set is the Ai Graduation Set (5277) and also includes several coordinating sentiments such as Hey smarty pants, Nothing is beyond your reach, Welcome to the real world, Hats off to you, and many more!

So lets get started by stamping the front panel of the card using ALL of these wonderful sentiments. This is a great way to create a simple and easy background for any card. Now we can blend some ink around the edges of this card panel using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean.

Next we can stamp our graduation critters! We will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens – Sugared Almond Pink, Yellow, Haze Blue, Cornflour Blue, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Brown, Brown, Lt Gray, Gray. We will then use our detail scissors to cut out these images…leaving a little white border all the way around.

Next we can cut the Lift the Flaps openings from our card. Next I will show you how we can easily turn this into a fun shaker card using some clear acetate and some tiny gold stars!

Let’s add our images into each of the windows and then let’s also add some shiny gold metallic stars to the center of each flap!

Finally, we can stamp, cut and color some little grad caps for the center of each of the stars!

Keep in mind that you could easily use the school colors to personalize it for your special graduate!

Hello Ai Fans!!!

If you are looking for a fun twist on a traditional shaker card you are going to love this edge-to-edge shaker card design! In today’s video and card we will be using the adorable images from the Graduation Set (5277) to create this fun card.

I’ll show you step by step on how to create this design….and it is so easy! But beware….you will become addicted to these fun shakers!

We will also be creating a watercolor resist background with our Reactive Ink Pads and we will color in the images with our Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

This card was inspired by the current Blog Challenge which is called “Shaken, not stirred!”. The challenge is to include a drink in your card…any kind of drink will do…lemonade, coffee, hot cocoa, or a glass of wine like I did!

Art Impressions Mini Slimline Grad Card w/ Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers

Happy Wednesday Ai Fans!!!

In today’s video and card we will be creating a fun mini slimline graduation card! To set the scene we will be creating a beautiful watercolor wash for our sky and grassy border using the Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers. We will add a little sparkle to the sky with a shimmery spray!

We will be using the Graduation Set (5277) for our little critters and sentiments and then we will use the His & Hers Flying High Set (SC0649) for these whimsical clouds!

This card is inspired by the current Art Impressions Blog Challenge – “Cloudy with a chance of….”. I thought it would be fun to have the little giraffe poking his up up through the clouds for a fun and whimsical effect! We would love it if you would join us for this super fun challenge!

Lawn Fawn Graduation Shadow Box Card!

Hello and Welcome!

In todays video and card we will be creating a super fun graduation shadow box card! Our little shadow box will have a stage and an audience and lots of stars to celebrate the graduate!

To create this card we will be using the Lawn Fawn Shadow Box Dies and the Shadow Box Theater Add-on Dies. I also wanted to add an audience in my little theater so I used the brand new Lawn Fawn Tiny Friends Dies. These dies are so much fun to use. I recently used the Tiny Friends on my “Lawn Fawn Car Critters Race – Slimline Card“!

For the coloring today, I will be using my Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Alcohol Markers. I will list all of the colors that I used down below.
