MINI SHAKER – using your paper scraps!

Let’s use up some of our pretty paper scraps and create a mini shaker element for today’s card! We can begin by die cutting a rectangle panel using the Ai Nested Rectangle Die Set (5724). Now let’s grab some of our leftover paper scraps…I’m using my scraps from the Ai Easter Paper Pack (5742). We will be cutting these papers into 1/2″ strips and attaching them to the front of this rectangular panel. You can place your strips either horizontally or vertically or even on an angle. By using a pretty paper pad like this one, you can be sure that all of your paper strips will coordinate very nicely with each other!

Now we can die cut a larger rectangle with that same die set using the Lawn Fawn Sparkle Cardstock in Pixie Dust and then layer these panels onto the front of our card base.

Next let’s stamp and color our little pup. This image is from the Ai Birthday Journal Set (5722) which is part of the newer Watercolor Journal Series! This sweet image was colored in using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Tea Rose, Aquamarine Blue, Lilac, Lt Gray Platinum Brown. We will fussy cut this image with our detail scissors.

Now we can build the MINI SHAKER element…so much fun! We will be using the Ai Journal Oval Frames Set (5588) for the scallop circle and the Ai Nested Circle Die Set (5726) to create the scalloped frame. In this video I will show you how to assemble this little shaker element for your card! It’s very simple and easy to do!!!

Next we can die cut several flowers from the Ai Journal Oval Frames Set (5588) and some little white sprigs from the Ai Journal Rectangle Frames Set (5591).

Let’s assemble the shaker with the flowers and sprigs for a pretty little arrangement at the bottom of the shaker. And we can repeat the sparkly gems that we used inside the shaker on the center of each of the flowers!

Going back to the Birthday Journal Set we can die cut the “Celebrate” sentiment that is included with this stamp set. We will use the same sparkle cardstock and attach this to a delicate piece of vellum paper. This will give our sentiment a more elegant look!

Edge-to-Edge Shaker – Birthday Card!

Let’s create a fun and festive Edge-to-Edge Shaker Card today! We will be using the Ai Special Window Set (5451). This pretty party scene can also be used with all of the window dies and shadowbox dies in the Art Impressions collection! That makes this very versatile and will allow you to use this stamp in many different ways and today we will use it in another creative way!

First, we can stamp and color in our window scene! All of the coloring was done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Lt Violet, Lt Blue, Lt Green, Deep Green, Turquoise Green, Olive Green, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray.

Next, let’s gather up a few pretty patterned papers from the Ai Harvest Journal Series Paper Pack (5606) and Ai Halloween Journal Series Paper Pack (5605). We can die cut these papers using the Ai Square Double Stitched Dies (5061) and this will give us that nice stitched border around the edges.

Now the fun part….let’s create the edge-to-edge shaker element for this card. I’ll show you step by step in the video how to easily create this little pocket which will hold some pretty opalescent sequins in a variety of pastel colors!

We can now quickly assemble the card and add the gift packages and some additional sequins for added interest!

Hero Arts Happy Holidays Cover Plate – Shaker Card!

Today we will be creating this fun and elegant shaker card using the Hero Arts Holidays Cover Plate Die! This die will cut out the entire sentiment with just one pass through your die cutting machine…so it’s super simple and easy to use! It will cut out the negative images, but be sure to keep those positive pieces for a future project. This die can be placed anywhere on your project and will only cut out the sentiment so that you can place this on any size card or journal. We will be cutting the Cover Plate with some sparkly glitter paper!

To create the background for our shaker we will be using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Sprays, as well as, the Tim Holtz Distress Mica Stains. We will be using the Christmas Set #3 which includes Fresh Balsam, Tart Cranberry and Winter Frost. These are absolutely beautiful!

Let’s assemble the shaker element of our card by adding some pretty clear glitter and sparkly embellishments.

To complete our simple and elegant theme we will stamp with the beautiful Holly Berry Stamp from the Hero Arts Collection and then emboss with some white embossing powder. There is also a coordinating die set available and I will list and link that down below!

Finally, we will add just a bit of color to the holly and berry image using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in Aquamarine Blue and Smoky Teal.

Shaker Gift Card – Birds & Bugs!

Today I’ve got another really cute brand new stamp set to show you! This set is the Ai Birds & Bugs Set (5561) and it includes the sweetest little birds, bees, butterflies, and lady bugs! This set also includes the coordinating dies!

I wanted to show you all of these images on one card…so we will be creating this little shaker gift card! We will add a second stamp set by using the Ai On the Sparrow HL Set (5130) to include a branch for our lady bugs to sit.

To create the frames needed to for the shaker element we will be using the Ai Journal Template Die Set (5543). We will also grab a banner die from this set to stamp and die cut our sentiment. The “A gift for you” sentiment is from the Ai Christmas Sentiments Set (5566).

To set the scene we will stencil a cloudy sky using the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pad in Uncharted Mariner. We can place the four cloudy backgrounds on a cardstock panel….using the frame to line things up perfectly!

Now let’s stamp and color all of our images using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Deep Vermillion, Yellow, Orange, Mustard, Smoky Teal, Haze Blue, Lt Red Grape, Beige, Mid Brown.

We will create the shaker pockets by layering up several frames. Once we have these glued together we can place them on a card panel…lining them up with the sky backgrounds. Now let’s add some pretty glitter in each of these openings and cover this with an additional frame that has a sheet of acetate glued behind it. I’ll give you some tips and tricks for all of these steps as we go along! Now we can close up the shaker element by adding this acetate frame.

Once this shaker piece is complete we can finish assembling the card by embossing a card panel with a beautiful “Geo Screen” stencil. This finished card will measure 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″.

We can quickly finish the inside of the card using a scallop rectangle die from that same Ai Journal Template Die Set (5543) and we will stencil this panel to coordinate with the little windows in our card. This will give us a place to write a note or stamp another sentiment.

This set can be used with any of your other stamp sets…these images will be perfect to finish off any scene!

**New Release** Mousey Christmas – Edge-to-Edge Shaker Card!

Bonnie at Art Impressions has done it again! She has created the most adorable Christmas stamp set with the most adorable mice. This brand new set is called “Mousey Christmas (5564)” and includes three little festive mice and all of the coordinating sentiments to make a super fun holiday card! And my favorite part…..the dies are included!!!

I thought this stamp set would be perfect for my “Pretty in Pink” challenge feature! Of course, when I found out that my feature card was to be a “Pink” theme I was so happy! As you may have figured out already….I love this color!

We will be creating an Edge-to-Edge shaker card! These are so super simple….yet have a great impact. It will look like you spent hours creating this and it truly takes no time at all! I’ll show you how to create this design and give you a few tips for adding your shaker elements. This card design is very addicting so be prepared to want to make several more!

We will use the brand new Ai Journal Template Die Set (5543) as well and this die set includes all of the dies you would need to create a beautiful journal booklet. However, there are so many dies in this set that can be used in so many different ways. We will be using the little photo corners for the four corners of the front of this card. It is a perfect way to frame this edge-to-edge shaker design. We will also use the scalloped circles from this same set for our sentiment. This set has a lot of bang for the buck…I will be using lots of different elements in the coming weeks!

We will set the scene for this card by creating a peppermint striped background with some ink blending and lots of spattering. We will spatter our background with the ink from our marker, some white acrylic paint, and some sparkly liquid stardust! Then we will inlay this pretty background into another striped background to create our peppermint stripes.

I really wanted to stay with a pink and red color theme for this card so I used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in a variety of pinks, reds and grays and then I added just a touch of turquoise. The colors I used in todays video are as follows: Lt Pink, Wine Red, Turquoise Green, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray, Warm Gray 3, Warm Gray 4.

Once our image is colored in we can die cut it and then we can assemble our shaker pocket. We will fill it with some pretty hearts, sequins, and snowflakes!

Let’s attach this pocket to a pretty pink top folding card base and add a fun sentiment to the inside of the card for a finishing touch!

Hello Ai Fans!!!

If you are looking for a fun twist on a traditional shaker card you are going to love this edge-to-edge shaker card design! In today’s video and card we will be using the adorable images from the Graduation Set (5277) to create this fun card.

I’ll show you step by step on how to create this design….and it is so easy! But beware….you will become addicted to these fun shakers!

We will also be creating a watercolor resist background with our Reactive Ink Pads and we will color in the images with our Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

This card was inspired by the current Blog Challenge which is called “Shaken, not stirred!”. The challenge is to include a drink in your card…any kind of drink will do…lemonade, coffee, hot cocoa, or a glass of wine like I did!

Art Impressions Sweet Wishes Shaker Card!

Happy Wednesday Ai Fans!!!

In today’s video and card we will be creating an elegant floral wreath shaker card! We will be using the Sweet Wishes Set (4848) for our images and sentiment. We will stamp and emboss our image in gold to give it an elegant look and we will simply and easily color in our images using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens!

Next, I will show you how to create this simple shaker card design. We will add some beautiful sequins in shades of purple and lilac and then to finish off the card we will add some strips of gold metallic paper. These strips will have a beautiful stitched border which will complete this card perfectly!

Art Impressions – Miss Hat Shaker Card!

Hello Ai Fans!!!

In todays video and card we will be using one of the brand new Hats Off Sets from Art Impressions! This is the adorable Miss Hat Set (5404)! This set includes several different wonderful hats…. the Birthday Cake, Birdcage, Pheasant and Latte Hats! The set also includes the coordinating dies and several wonderful sentiments!

We will be creating a super fun shaker card! We will use some beautiful sparkle cardstock and iridescent hearts to give this birthday card a fun and festive look! I’ll share with you a few tips and tricks for easily creating a simple shaker card.

All of the coloring will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a Blender Pen!

There were three new collections in this series which also includes the Mr. Hat Set (5406) and Mrs. Hat Set (5405)! I have previously done a video using the Mr. Hat Set which is linked here!

Happy Wednesday Ai Fans!!!

In today’s card and video I will be showing you how I made this fun and interactive shaker card using the brand new Chubby Snowmen Set!

This card was inspired by the current Blog Challenge which is to create a card that reflects the “Reason for the Season”. My reason for the season is LOVE…and this little snowman and his little feathered friend just reflect that sentiment so perfectly!

We will also be creating an embossed background using the new Large Snowflake Dies! This is just another fun way to use your dies in a different way!!!
