Using the NEW Floral Shop Die Set in a fun new way!

Today’s card was inspired by the current Ai “I see right through you” Blog Challenge. This challenge is to create something that you can see through, so I thought this fun new window design would be perfect for this challenge!

Today we will be using the brand-new Ai Floral Shop Die Set (6159), which is a wonderful add-on die set that was designed to expand the options for your Ai Box Village Die Set. This new set is designed to help you create a sweet flower shop structure! This set has 28 new dies which include a few new windows, a larger door, a longer fence, new scalloped roof dies, and several mini floral dies and so much more! It even includes a “blooms” sentiment die to help you create an adorable flower shop box for your journals. Please also note that this new die set is included in a discounted bundle set. This bundle also includes 5 “Floral Shop” stamp sets which coordinate perfectly with the floral shop structure and are designed to fit perfectly on your tag book journal.

Let’s get started by creating the card base using the Ai Box Village Template Die Set (6114). We will be using a part of this die to create a tag style card base. I’ll show you how to do this in today’s video!

We will then add some wood grain patterned paper from the Ai Winter Woodland PP (5963) to the card front. Now we can die cut the opening for the window and add the windowpanes on both the front and inside of the card.

Let’s now die cut all of the pieces we will need to create the florals, fence, window box, and awning using the Ai Floral Shop Die Set (6159). We will use the pattern papers from the Ai Mini Birthday PP (5873) and some solid cardstock in Cilantro. We will also die cut a grassy border from that same Cilantro cardstock.

Next, we can go ahead and add all of the die cuts to the card. We will also stamp the “Live life in full…” sentiment on a little banner die and attach to the bottom of the grass. And for the inside of the card, we will use the “Blooms” die from this new set and cut off the letter “s”. So, the inside will complete the sentiment from the front of the card.

We will add some patterned paper to the inside of our tag card in a sweet gingham plaid and then add the sentiment.

For a few finishing touches, let’s add a few pretty butterflies using the Ai Birds & Bugs Set (5561). We can scatter a few on the front of the card and one on the inside of the card. We can also add a pastel heart on the bottom of the window box!

Spring Keepsake Frame Card!

We will be using the most adorable Ai Spring Keepsake Set (6106) today. It contains so many cute critters including a little rabbit, duck, and frog. And because it is part of the Keepsake Series it includes a pretty little clay pot and some tulips, a watering can, a birdhouse and there are also some fun coordinating sentiments in this set.

Let’s go ahead and stamp, die cut and color all of the images using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Pink Flamingo, Pale Rose, Pink Haze, Tea Rose, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Orange, Lt Brown, Beige, Sand, Mid Brown, Pale Green, Lt Green, Green, Smoky Teal, Plum Gray, Dk Gray. Using a white gel pen we can add some highlights and polka dots!

We will also be using the brand-new Ai Story Tile Template Die (6158). This will give us some nicely sized stitched openings to showcase each of our little images. We will die cut that from some kraft cardstock and again from some white cardstock.

For the white inserts, we will be adding a pretty cloudy background using the Lawn Fawn Cloudy Stencil. Then we will spatter a bit of the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in the Speckled Egg on each of the panels.

Let’s quickly assemble the card by adding each of the white panels to the inside of the kraft cardstock frames. We will pop-up the images for some added interest and dimension. For the little birdhouse, we will add a ribbon using a black permanent marker and a pretty pink bow using some Lawn Fawn Hemp Twine in the Dusty Rose.

Finally, let’s add a few cute sentiments from this same set and then scatter some clear iridescent drops all around the card panel!

Let’s begin today’s card by stamping, coloring, and die cutting Gardener Gail and the 3 little potted planters. For the coloring, we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Flesh Colour, Sugared Almond Pink, Pink Haze, English Lavender, Purple, Violet, Aquamarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Lt Green, Green, Yellow, Orange, Beige, Lt Gray.

To set the scene, we will create a beautiful ink blended sky and grassy area. We will be using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks to do the blending. Once all of the ink blending is done, we will spatter the sky with water, ink, and clear glitter and for the grass we will spatter with some ink as well. This will add a lot of interest to our pretty background! I’ll show you a little trick for masking the grass and sky on your card in order to get a perfect blending!

Next, let’s add the perfect picket fence using the Ai Journal Fence Dies (5807). There are three fence styles in this set, and I will show you those in today’s video.

For our sentiment we will use the same stamp set and it will say “Still bloomin’ after all these years”… perfect for a birthday card! But there are several sentiments to choose from in this set!

Finally, let’s pop-up Gail, the planters, and the sentiment!

Tea Time Pocket Card for Mother’s Day!

Today’s card was inspired by the current Ai “Show Mom She’s Special” Blog Challenge. Of course, if you change out the sentiments this card would be great for any occasion with all of its beautiful floral papers and cute little pocket tag! This tag could be removed by the recipient for a fun little bookmark as well!

Let’s begin by stamping the stack of teacups and spoon using the brand-new Ai Tea Time Set (6024). For all of the coloring we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Pale Yellow, Yellow, Shadow Pink, Pale Rose, Sea Green.

Next, we will use the Ai Portfolio Template Die Set (5952) to die cut the tag and pocket. The beautiful pattern papers are from the Ai Easter Bunny Paper Pack (6036). These 6″x6″ double-sided paper packs are perfect for your layered cards since all of the papers coordinate so nicely!

Let’s also die cut the layers for the card using the two largest dies from the Ai Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies (5063). We can layer these onto a standard A2 size card base.

Now, we can add a pretty plaid scalloped rectangle panel onto the card and then let’s add the pocket onto to the card using some strong double-sided tape to attach this securely to the card. To this pocket we can add a strip of floral paper and the little spoon!

Let’s add some Mother’s Day sentiments from this same stamp set but again this card would be great for any occasion if you change out the sentiments for a special birthday, friendship, thinking of you, or thank you card!

For the tag, we will add some hemp twine in Dusty Rose and tie a pretty bow!

Again, using that same paper pack we will fussy cut some flowers and attach those to the cards, gluing some flat and popping up a few others.

As a finishing touch, we will scatter some pretty sparkly white gems around the card for added interest and fun!

“Touch of White” Tulip Floral Card!

I had previously done a set of floral cards using a “”Touch of Gold” (which I will link down below), so I thought I would call today’s card a “Touch of White” for the Art Impressions current blog “Highlights” Challenge. This challenges us to use a white gel pen or white paint to add highlights to your projects.

I thought I would take the white highlights theme to a new level by adding touches of white by not only using the gel pen but by adding white touches in several other ways. We will create a texture white brick background, add some white embossed tulips, add white speckles to the background, add some white ink around the edges of the card panel, and add some pretty white hearts! Lots of different ways to brighten up or highlight your cards!

Let’s start by stamping our images using the Ai Floral Long Stem Bouquet Set (5918) and the Ai Glass Containers Set (5921) and the Ai Easter Bunny Puppet Set (5869). Now we can color these using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Lt Pink, Peach Pink, Bright Yellow, Orange, Sea Green, Persian Green, May Green, Green, English Lavender, Purplish Gray, Lt Gray.

Once the coloring is done let’s add some highlights with our white gel pen to the flowers, container and bow.

Next, we can build the background for the flower arrangement by using a brickwork embossing folder and some white cardstock. We will ink the embossing folder in gray to give it a more realistic look. We will also use another embossing folder to create a little wood shelf for our arrangement to sit on. We can color this using some brown inks and then cut it down to size.

Let’s go ahead and assemble the arrangement onto some black cardstock, leaving a small border of black all the way around.

Now for the larger background, we will begin by stamping and embossing a pretty tulip border in white ink and white embossing powder, using the Ai My Trust Set (5937). Let’s use this same set to stamp the little speckled stamp (one of my new favorite go-to stamps) and stamp the kraft colored cardstock with all of the colors used in the flower arrangement and also a pop of white ink!

Let’s assemble onto a white card base and add a few pretty white hearts! I hope this card inspires you to add some white highlights onto your cards in a variety of fun ways!

Sunny Studio Puddle Jumpers Card!

We will be playing with the most adorable little stamp set in today’s video! It’s the Sunny Studio Puddle Jumpers Stamp Set and it includes all of the images that you need to create a fun spring, rainy day birthday card!

Let’s start by stamping all of our images and coloring them using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in the following colors: Blender, Flesh Colour, Tea Rose, Yellow, Orange, Green, May Green, Turquoise Green, Lt Blue, Cobalt Blue, Beige, Lt Gray, Dk Gray, Dk Brown.

Now we can cut these images out using our detail scissors. However, there is a coordinating die set and I will link that below for you. The cutting was a bit time consuming with the scissors. Therefore, I would suggest the coordinating die set if you don’t love cutting these out by hand.

We will cut the scallop frame two times using the Sunny Studio Frilly Frames Lattice Dies. One will remain as die cut and for the other one, we will cut off the scallops. This will allow us the keep the pretty stitched lines around the edges.

Let’s take the one where we cut off the scallops and stamp the Sunny Studio Sprawling Surfaces (the rocks) on the bottom of this panel. Apply a strip of masking tape above this stony border so that we can color the stones. To do this we will use the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and our Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker.

Now we can place a new mask over the stone border and do the sky. We will be creating rainy sky using some Tim Holtz Mini Distress Inks. We will stamp the raindrop stamps included in the set and emboss these with some clear embossing powder. I’ll show you how to apply the inks directly to the cardstock for this textured sky. It’s a fun direct-to-paper technique that is fun and easy to do!

Let’s add a pretty cloud to the top of this panel using the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Border Dies. We will stamp a sentiment on this cloud that says, “Waddle You Know?” and we can also stamp the inside of the card, and this will say “It’s your birthday”.

Finally, we will assemble the card using some pretty yellow cardstock for the card base. We can pop up the cloud with some 3D Foam Tape … and don’t forget to add some cute items to the inside of the card!
