DIY Halloween Coffin w/ Paper Crafting Supplies

Today we will be creating a super fun Halloween Decor item using several stamp sets from the Art Impressions Collection! This little spooky Halloween coffin would be a great party favor or home decor item. It would also be a fun gift for a co-worker….it will sit nicely on a desk!

Let’s start off by separating this little box…and to do this we will just take off all of the hardware. Then we can paint one half with the Tim Holtz Black Soot acrylic paint. While that is drying we can go ahead and do our stamping and coloring.

For our coloring today we will use the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Blossom Pink, Lt Pink, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Scarlet Red, Dark Yellow, Smoky Yellow, Beige, Red Grape, Deep Red Grape, Mid Brown, Lt Gray, Gray, Dk Gray.

We can quickly die cut all of our images using the coordinating dies! Let’s cut an extra set of each of the dies in some black 100lb cardstock in order to thicken up these images and give them a little more substance.

Now we can add some woodgrain cardstock all around the edges of this box and on the inside of the box using the Tim Holtz Distress Black Two Tone Woodgrain Cardstock. This paper is fantastic and can be used for so many different projects!

I’ll give you a few tricks and tips for lining the box with this woodgrain paper. Now we can add some crinkle grass in a spooky purple color at the bottom of the box….this will give us a place for our little cat to sit!

Now we can quickly add glue and foam tape on all of our images and attach them to the box…and then add a few pretty purple opalescent sequins to give the inside of the box a bit of sparkle!!!
