Hero Arts Layering Stencil w/ Paste, Glimmer, Lacquer!

Let’s create some pretty tags or tag cards using a beautiful Hero Arts Layering “O Christmas Tree” Stencil Set! This set includes 4 stencils that can be used to create the most dimensional tree with ornaments, garland and a pretty star! Please note that there is a matching “O Christmas Tree” Stamp Set which I have linked below if you are interested in that as well.

To get started we can die cut a stitched tag using the Ai Tag Stitched Dies (5132) Set. We will be doing a white tag and a kraft tag. I think you will enjoy seeing the difference between the two tags by using the same ink colors!

Next, we can start the stenciling using the Hero Arts Mini Cube Inks and a small Hero Arts blending brush. We will start with some Pine ink for the first layer. For layer number two we can use the Fresh Lawn ink. To do the garland we will use the Cranberry and Crimson. And the last layer are the little ornaments which will be done in a variety of colors. These colors are all listed below.

Now we can stamp the Hero Arts Bold Prints “Script” Cling Stamp using the Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs. This is one of my go-to stamps for creating a pretty background on your cards and tags.

Next, we can use the blending brush and some Tim Holtz Walnut Stain ink to go around the edges of the tag.

To tie the background together we will be spattering each tag with the Hero Arts Glimmer Metallic Inks in Gold and Pewter and the Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bleed Proof White ink.

On the white tag we will be adding some Hero Arts White Pearl Paste to the garland. This will add some fun dimension and a pretty pearl finish.

On both tags we can add the Hero Arts Lacquer Pen Sparkle Clear on each of the ornaments. This again will add dimension and interest to the ornaments.

We can die cut some pretty stars using the same die set we used to create the tag. These will also be in the gold and silver.

Finally, let’s add a pretty Pinkfresh Studio Metallic Pearl to each of the stars in Matte Gold and Silver and some sparkly twine to each of the tags!

Now you can leave these as a simple tag or create a tag card…and I will show you how to do this in today’s video!

DIY Snow Globe Ornament using the Art Impressions WC Snow Globe Set!

Today we will be playing with the brand-new Ai WC Snow Globe Set (5791) which includes all of the stamps needed to create a beautiful snow globe. There is a snowman and tree, a church, deer, sentiment and the base of the snow globe. It also includes the circle die needed to create the opening for your card or projects as well as some wonderful little coordinating dies. These include a few pretty snowflakes, leaves, and a few stars!

This set is designed for your card and journal projects, but I thought it would be fun to engineer a little snow globe ornament using the new set! I will give you all of the instructions for creating this fun ornament. There are probably several ways to create one of these ornaments, but I will show you how I created mine.

There are also Ai Snow Globe Shaker Domes (5808) available for purchase. Please note that these are sold separately.

Let’s first stamp and color the church and base for the snow globe using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Haze Blue, Sea Green, Lt Gray, Cool Gray 3.

To set the scene for our globe we will be inking the circle (which is from the same set) using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink in Speckled Egg and Peacock Feathers. Let’s also add the look of snow by spattering the background using the Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bleed Proof White Ink and we will also spatter the background using the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen. Just adding a bit of water to each of these will allow us to easily spatter with these products!

Again, in the video I will give you detailed instructions for how I cut, layered, and assembled this snow globe. But before we assemble everything be sure to add your sentiment to the back of the ornament using the same stamp set. We will also die cut a few of the snowflakes included in the set to place around the sentiment!

I was trying to come up with a way to hang this ornament and I decided to use the little tab die from the Ai Mini Journal Template Set (5718). This will give us a little hole for our ribbon and also looks really pretty with that scallop edge!

We can quickly ink up around the edges of the ornament with the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Picked Raspberry using a blending brush.

Let’s assemble everything and add some pretty pink and white baker’s twine and for a bit of sparkle let’s add some gems from Pinkfresh Studio… in pink of course!!

I did add a few iridescent stars to the sky however I didn’t fill my snow globe with any glitter or sequins…. but you certainly could. To be honest with you I kind of wish that I had…. maybe next time!!!

Leaf Frame Shaker Card!

We are going to create a colorful Halloween shaker card using the brand-new Ai Fall Leaf Frame Die Set (5783). This pretty fall frame includes several small leaves, mushrooms, sprigs and even a tiny acorn!

We can die cut this frame from some golden sparkle cardstock and add a second frame from some white 100lb cardstock to give this frame a bit more substance.

Next, we can continue creating the shaker element by adding some clear acetate behind the frame and then plenty of foam mounting tape around the back of the frame as well. Now the fun part…. adding some pretty sequins from the Buttons Galore & More Sequinz – Scary Fun collection. And to finish this shaker element we will add some fun purple paper with gold stars. This paper is from the Ai Halloween Journal Paper Pack (5605).

Next, we can stamp and die cut some adorable little owls and cute witches’ hats from the Ai Autumn Owl Cubbies (5179) Set. We will color all of these owls using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Purple, Lt Green, Orange, Yellow, Cool Gray 6, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Brown.

For the background on the card, we will use that same paper pack and die cut the black spider web paper from the Ai Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Die (5063) Set. We will also grab some purple striped paper and die cut this as well. This will give us a nice, stitched edge all the way around the card.

Let’s stamp a sentiment that will say “Whooo’s ready for Halloween?” using some black ink.

Now we can easily assemble the card and add a few more sequins to embellish the background as well as the acetate on the shaker element.

Finally….start shaking and enjoy the fun! Happy Halloween!!!

Tim Holtz Halloween 2023 – Big Frights

Time for some more yummy spookiness from the Tim Holtz Halloween 2023 collection! I have been having such a great time with these new Halloween dies, stickers, adornments and so much more!

But before we get started, please be sure to check out two other fun videos that I have done using several of the new Tim Holtz Halloween collection. I will link each of those videos below:

Tim Holtz Halloween 2023 – “Graveyard Colorize” with Mica Stains Background!

Tim Holtz Halloween 2023 – “Edison Colorize”

Let’s start today by creating a textured “cracked” background using the Tim Holtz 3-D Texture Fades – Cracked embossing folder. We will first use our TH Mica Sprays in Empty Tomb, Fallen Acorn, and Unraveled. I’ll give you a few tricks and tips for using these sprays!

Next, we will apply black ink to the embossing folder and press that ink into our textured background.

For our focal image we will be using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits – Big Frights die set. We will be using the giant “BOO!” sentiment but you could also use the “EEK!” sentiment that is included in this set.

We will die cut the sentiment from some patterned paper from the Tim Holtz idea-ology Abandoned Paper Stash and then we can apply some TH Distress Mica Glaze in Seedless Preserves and Uncharted Mariner. This will give the sentiment a wonderful shine and add lots of texture.

For the background layer on the sentiment, we will be using a fantastic sparkle sticker paper from the Tim Holtz idea-ology Halloween Deco Sheets.

Let’s grab a spooky paper doll from the TH Paper Dolls collection and add a bit of color using the TH Distress Crayons. We can also add a creepy chipboard sentiment from the Tim Holtz idea-ology – Halloween – Baseboards and a sentiment sticker and a few bats and a fun witch’s hat and mask from the Tim Holtz idea-ology Sticker Book – Halloween 2023.

For a bit more sparkle we can add a few sequins from the Buttons Galore & More Sequinz – Scary fun collection.

Finally, let’s place this onto some black cardstock and add an easel…this will create a fun and spooky Halloween decor item, or you can fold it flat so that it will easily fit into and envelope!

How to make a cascading card – using the Front and Back Snowman!

Let’s create a super fun Cascading Card today! Today’s video will contain all of the measurements for cutting and scoring your cardstock to create this interactive card! Although this design looks quite complicated, I have filmed the video so that you can follow along and pause the video as needed in order to complete each section of the card very easily.

For our focal image we will be using the brand-new Ai FB Snowman (5779). This set will contain the front and back of the cutest little snowman as well as the coordinating dies. These front and back images are perfect for your spinner, acetate and window cards.

We can stamp and die cut our snowman. All of the coloring will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Wine Red, Sugared Almond Pink, Turquoise Mint, Blue Green, Bright Yellow, Haze Blue, Warm Gray 4.

Next, let’s die cut several pretty snowflakes with some sparkle paper using the Ai Lg Snowflake Dies (5353). We need to cut two of each so that we can glue them back-to-back. Let’s also add some teal opalescent sequins to the center of each of these snowflakes.

For our sentiments we will be using the Ai Nested Heart Dies (5721) and the Ai Chubby Snowman Set (5351) and Ai Christmas Sentiments Set (5566). The scallop heart will be in the same sparkle cardstock and then for the middle heart we will be using the pretty heart paper from the Ai Valentine Paper Pack (5741). The smallest hearts will contain our sentiments and one will say “Snow place like home for the holidays!” and the other will say “Let it snow”.

Tim Holtz Halloween 2023 – “Graveyard Colorize” with Mica Stains Background!

Let’s have some spooky fun today! We are going to create this creepy Halloween graveyard using the brand-new Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits – Graveyard Colorize Set from the Halloween 2023 collection!

To set the scene for our card, we will be using the Tim Holtz Mica Stains in Wicked Elixir, Ominous Twilight, and Mulled Cider. These stains have mica in them which will give the background a fantastic shimmer. I’ll give you a few tips and tricks for using these stains in this video!

While our background is drying, we can die cut and assemble the gravestones and skulls. These colorize dies are easy to use and to line up….I’ll show you that up close in the video as well. We will add a little bit of shadowing to these dies using a sponge dauber and some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks.

We will also die cut the fence from this same set and the using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits – Big Frights Set we can die cut the moon and bats out of some glitter papers!

Next, let’s go to the Tim Holtz idea-ology Paper Dolls from the Halloween collection and grab any of the spooky looking people. Pick the one you like best…I thought the little boy and girl were fun for this project!

Next, we can create the card base and I will give you all of the dimensions and scoring instructions for this larger card!

Before we start assembling the card, we can cut a slit in the little girl’s arms to hold a skull. We can add some black cardstock to the bottom of the card panel to give our elements something to sit on. We can just tear the top of the paper for a creepier look!

Let’s assemble the card and add a word chip that says “The Grave Keeper” to the bottom of the card. This will come from Tim Holtz idea-ology Baseboards – Halloween 2023 or any of your Halloween collections.

Now let’s add some Tim Holtz Distress Texture Paste in Black Opaque to the bottom of the card for added dimension and interest.

For the finishing touch, we can add a sticker from the Tim Holtz idea-ology Sticker Book – Halloween 2023 which says “Established 1876”!

Home Sweet Home Fairy House!

Today we will be creating a fun fairy’s card using some letter dies to create our sentiment! Using your letter dies is an easy way to personalize your cards and create your own custom sentiments. You can also mix and match your lettering fonts for even more fun and interest!

Let’s begin by stamping and coloring the adorable brand-new Ai Fairy Houses Set (5790). This set includes two cute little fairy houses. We will be using just one of them today but either one would work well on this card! We also need to stamp, color, and die cut the little fairies which are from the Ai Fairy Cubbies Set (5345).

All of the coloring will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Blue Green, Turquoise Mint, Lt Pink, Sugared Almond Pink, Pink Flamingo, Pale Rose, Flesh Colour, Yellow, Beige, Shadow Pink, Haze Blue, Aquamarine Blue, Lilac, Lt Gray, May Green, Mocha Brown, Brown, Warm Gray 6, Blossom Pink, Pale Orange, Mid Brown, Gray.

Next we can die cut the image using the brand-new Ai Decorative Journal Page Set 1 (5768). This set includes some beautiful page dies as well as the label die we will be using today and many other wonderful journal dies!

Now we can create three panels for our card using the Ai Easter Paper Pack (5742) and the Ai Valentine Paper Pack (5741). We will use some pretty checkered papers in pastel colors and layer these papers onto some coordinating solid papers.

For the lettering on the card we will be using the Ai Journal Letter Set (5562). Let’s grab the letters we need to create the “Home Sweet Home” sentiments. I will give you a few tips and tricks for lining up your letters!

Let’s go ahead and layer the card with all of our elements and add some iridescent stars for a bit of sparkle!

For a finishing touch we will add a simple bow from the Ai Fairy Cubbies Set (5345)!
