So Sweet Armful of Cupcakes – Edge-to-Edge Shaker Card!

Today we will be using the brand-new Ai So Sweet Armfuls Stamp and Die Set (5904). This little set includes the cute elephant that we will be using today, as well as, a bear, heart, cupcake and a sentiment! When you die cut these little “Armful” images it will create a little slit above and below the arms so that they can hold the heart or cupcake or anything else you may want to place in their arms!

To get started let’s stamp, color and die cut all of the images. For the coloring we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Pink Flamingo, Lilac, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Scarlet Red, Lt Blue, Lt Green, Beige, Platinum Brown, Lt Gray.

Next, let’s create our beautiful balloon background using a fun balloon stencil from Lawn Fawn and some Distress Oxide Inks in Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, and Festive Berries. Once all of the stenciling is done we can spatter this panel with those same three colors. We will also spatter the entire panel with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter for a bit of sparkle!

To add the little strings to the balloons we will be using the Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke. Again, just trying to stay in that same color palette as the elephant that we previously colored.

Now we can cut a strip of vellum paper a bit longer that the width of the card and die cut it using a pretty scallop border die from the Journal Template Die Set (5543). Next, we will stamp and emboss the sentiment, which is included in this set, and emboss it with some detail white embossing powder. This will get wrapped around the panel so that none of the adhesive will show through the vellum paper. This is a great way hide the adhesive!

We can now create the pocket for our edge-to-edge design. I will show you exactly how to do this in today’s video. We will be adding some pretty sequins to the shaker pocket from Picket Fence Studios Sequin Mix.

Let’s go ahead and assemble the card and for a finishing touch we will add a few more sparkly gems to the front of the card!
