Tim Holtz Mixed Media Christmas – Easel Card!

Let’s create a festive mixed media holiday card today! This will be an interactive easel card, and I will show you exactly how to create this design in today’s video!

Let’s start by die cutting several greens from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits – Festive Gatherings and Festive Words Die Sets. For the greenery we will be coloring all of the pieces using the Tim Holtz Distress Inks in a variety of colors. This is a quick and easy way to color the die cut pieces! I’ll also show you a little trick for making it even easier to color these pieces.

To add even more interest and texture to these die cuts we will add some clear dimensional glaze to some of the berries, as well as some white dimensional pearl to a few of the others. And for the pine needles, we will add some sparkle and texture with the Tim Holtz Mica Flakes. This will give the branches an icy, wintery look!

The card base will be made using the TH Kraft Heavystock and the attached “easel” portion of the card will be created using the TH Mixed Media Heavystock. Once we have cut and scored these pieces of the card, we will be using the TH Christmas Backdrops papers to create some pretty layers. I will give you all of the dimensions and measurements for the card base, easel, and patterned paper layers in the video.

For the “Hello Winter” sentiment we will be using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits – Festive Words die set and attach it to some red metallic cardstock from the TH Kraft-stock Metallic Colors.

Finally, let’s go ahead and assemble the card and all of our fun embellishments. We will also add a few sticker sentiments and some pretty velvet ribbon from the TH idea-ology Velvet Trims!
