Hot Foiling and Resist Stenciling – Elegant Fall Card

Let’s create an elegant Fall card with stenciling, embossing and foiling! This card will have lots and lots of beautiful layers which will add so much interest to our card!

We will die cut a Hero Arts Infinity Heart Die and then we will stencil it with the Echo Park Designer Stencil from the Fall Fever Collection and this one is called Leaf Pile.

To begin the stenciling, we will use a variety of Distress Oxide Inks in some pretty Fall colors. And then….for a bit of added interest and dimension we will lay the stencil back down over the colored leaves and ink it up with some clear embossing ink and then add clear embossing powder. Now we can add some ink around the edges of the heart and the embossed area will resist the ink. Next we can spatter the entire heart and add some metallic pearls!

For one of the background layers and the sentiment, we will add some gold foiling using the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil Machine and some Glimmer Plates. I’ll give you some tips and tricks for doing some easy foiling!

The card and layers are from the Welcome Fall – Carta Bella Coordinating Solids Paper Pack. Next we can quickly layer up the card on a top folding card base from some Kraft cardstock.

This card was created as a Congratulations card but could certainly be easily adapted to become a Thanksgiving or Fall card!

Tim Holtz 3D Snowflake Gift Card Holder

Hello and Welcome!

In todays video we will be creating some fun dimensional gift card holders! To do this, we will be using the Tim Holtz Stitched Slots Die, which is really meant to be used on your scrapbook or journaling pages. It is a great way to display a collection of tickets, photos or other ephemera. I must admit that I have had this die in my collection for quite some time and have never used it. So every now and again I like to look through my dies and use a die set that I have never used before. As I was looking at this set I thought it would be perfect for some holiday gift card holders! I will show you how to create a simple pocket for your slot die!

The beautiful snowflake is a Tim Holtz 3D Impresslits Embossing Folder. This folder not only embosses the image but also die cuts it at the same time! We will be adding some beautiful foiling to the snowflakes with just a glue pen and some Deco Foil. This is a great technique for those of you who don’t have a foiling machine and for those who just want to do some foiling in a specific area. No heat is required for this foiling technique!

We will also be doing some fun stenciling using the Tim Holtz Layering Stencils. These stencils will allow us to use two different colors for our stripes and dots. These are lots of fun to use!!!

We will add a handle for our gift card pocket using some pretty tinsel! Let’s add a few sparkly gems to finish off this project!

Spellbinders Autumn Leaf Border w/ Glimmer Hot Foiling

Hello and Welcome!

Today we are going to have some fun with the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System! We will be creating a gatefold birthday card with a pretty velvet belly band. And to add some additional interest, we will add a Tim Holtz metal “word band”.

I’ll show you how we will use the Metallic Gilding Polish to add color to the metal “word band”. Then we will highlight the lettering by using a Distress Crayon!

We will be using the Spellbinders Autumn Leaf Border Glimmer Plate! I’ll show you how quick and easy it is to apply this beautiful foiling to your projects! We will also use the Spellbinders Cannetille Rectangle Die to give this card a unique border and angled edge….which is so elegant!

After we have done the foiling, we will then apply some subtle color to the leaves using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pads in a variety of Fall colors. These work great on colored cardstock!

I know that a lot of us have a hard time creating masculine cards and sympathy cards…and this style would be great for either of those occasions!

Lawn Fawn Sweet Valentine Card w/ No Heat Foiling Technique

In today’s video and card we will be doing some beautiful foiling…but…wait for it….no heat needed!!!! We will be using the Deco Foil Transfer Gel DUO which will allow us to foil by just using the pressure from our die cutting machine!!! You do want to make sure that you are using the DUO gel for this technique!

To create the beautiful heart foiled background we will be using the Lawn Fawn Conversation Heart Stencils!

This card was inspired by the current Lawn Fawn Blog Challenge #93 – Lots of Love – which is pictured below.
