Tim Holtz 3D Snowflake Gift Card Holder

Hello and Welcome!

In todays video we will be creating some fun dimensional gift card holders! To do this, we will be using the Tim Holtz Stitched Slots Die, which is really meant to be used on your scrapbook or journaling pages. It is a great way to display a collection of tickets, photos or other ephemera. I must admit that I have had this die in my collection for quite some time and have never used it. So every now and again I like to look through my dies and use a die set that I have never used before. As I was looking at this set I thought it would be perfect for some holiday gift card holders! I will show you how to create a simple pocket for your slot die!

The beautiful snowflake is a Tim Holtz 3D Impresslits Embossing Folder. This folder not only embosses the image but also die cuts it at the same time! We will be adding some beautiful foiling to the snowflakes with just a glue pen and some Deco Foil. This is a great technique for those of you who don’t have a foiling machine and for those who just want to do some foiling in a specific area. No heat is required for this foiling technique!

We will also be doing some fun stenciling using the Tim Holtz Layering Stencils. These stencils will allow us to use two different colors for our stripes and dots. These are lots of fun to use!!!

We will add a handle for our gift card pocket using some pretty tinsel! Let’s add a few sparkly gems to finish off this project!

Hello and Welcome!

In todays video we will be using several wonderful products from the Tim Holtz Collection including the Darling Deer and Woodlands Thinlits Die Sets! We will create a dramatic sky for our scene using the brand new Villainous Potion ink pad along with the pretty pink Kitsch Flamingo ink pad. We will be using our sponge daubers to apply the ink in small sections to get this unique looking sky!

For added texture and dimension we will do some spattering with water and paint and by adding some beautiful snowflake sequins!

The special sentiment will come from the Tim Holtz idea-ology “Christmas/Noel” Label Stickers which look a lot like using your Dymo Sticker Maker….only easier! The package contains two sheets of these wonderful sentiments.

Tim Holtz Retro Oven Mixed Media Clipboard

In todays video we will be creating a festive holiday mixed media mini clipboard! We will be using the fun Tim Holtz Sizzix Retro Oven die set for our focal point and to create a fun shaker element for our clipboard. We will be using several other items from the Tim Holtz Collection including snowflakes, silverware, mirrored hearts, confections, quote chips, collage paper and many, many other wonderful items!!!

We will add lots of texture and dimension using some texture paste with stenciling, mica spray, garland glitter and again….so much more!

Then we will add some beautiful greenery with a snowy texture to add even more visual interest. I really love when you add lots of fun and interesting items to your mixed media projects for the recipient to discover!

This video is just a little bit longer but I really wanted to include all of the information that I could so that you could easily create one of your own if you wish!

This would make a great gift for a friend or relative….especially one that enjoys baking. You could print out your favorite cookie recipe and attach it to the clipboard for added interest and to personalize this special project!

Also…..keep an eye out….I’ll be putting out another mixed media mini clipboard video in the very near future!!!

Tim Holtz 3D Oak Leaf Card w/ Distress Sparkle Glitter

Hello!

In todays card and video we will be using the beautiful Tim Holtz 3D Impresslits Oak Leaf Die Set! This product not only die cuts the leaves but also embosses them at the same time…which I just think is amazing!

We will also be using the Tim Holtz Kraft-Stock in the Warm and Cool colors. These papers have a beautiful color on one side and a kraft color on the back side. What I love about these papers is that we can sand off some of the color on one side in order to reveal the kraft color underneath. This will create some fun texture to the leaves!

For a bit of sparkle, we will be using the new Tim Holtz Sparkle Set which includes both the Tinsel Glitter and the Garland Glitter. These glitters are so gorgeous and I will give you a closer look at these in the video.

To set the scene for our leaves we will spatter the background using some metallic watercolors. This will add a beautiful sparkle to our background!

We will then add a dimensional sentiment using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits Shadow Script #2 and then for an additional sentiment we will use the Tim Holtz Metallic Quotation Stickers.

3D Impressions (Part 2) w/ Metallic Gilding Polish

Watch the video tutorial here!

Hello!

Today I thought I would show you a follow-up of the “Tim Holtz 3D Texture Fades Cards w/ Metallic Gilding Polish” that I had previously done. You may want to watch that video as well because I cover the Gilding Polish in a bit more detail and there are several project examples!

So…in the first video, I showed you a couple of really interesting and textural cards using the beautiful Metallic Gilding Polish from Creative Expressions. We focused on just three colors in this video so that you could see how completely different they look depending on how you use them. We will also used the Tim Holtz 3-D Texture Fades Embossing Folders and at the end of the video I showed you several different samples!

For this Part 2 video, I want to show you many more color combinations and I will also be showing you the differences between the Gilding Polish and the Opal Polish. You will see how the Opal Polish is a completely different color when used on black cardstock versus white cardstock. The difference is dramatic and very beautiful!

Today we will create several backgrounds and embellishments, several different color combinations and then at the end of the video we will create several cards using these items. We will also mix the Opal and Gilding Polish on the same background which will give even more dramatic results.

For texture and dimension, we will be using several 3D embossing folders and die sets from Sizzix and also several Tim Holtz idea-ology products to complete our cards (including quote chips, metallic droplets, and sprocket gears). All of these products are listed and linked below.

Hello and Welcome!

In today’s video and card we will be creating a spooky mixed media Halloween scene! We will be using some brand new Halloween dies from the Tim Holtz collection! These will include the Ghost Town #2, Gate Keeper, and Regions Beyond Sets.
