Scalloped Oval Fun Flap Card!

Let’s create a super fun Scalloped Oval Flap Birthday Card using the Ai Birthday Cake Set (5255). This set has lots of different cakes, a candle, and cupcake! This card was inspired by the current Ai “Let them eat cake” Blog Challenge which is to have some fun using a cake or cupcake on your card or project!

We will start by building the card base and layers for this card. I started with the card base to show you how this card design could be used for any of your images and can be easily changed into a holiday, birthday, or special occasion card by just changing out your patterned papers. We will be using the Ai Mother’s Day Paper Pack (6051) which is absolutely beautiful and will give us a festive, yet feminine look to our card.

I’ll show you exactly how to create the card base and layers in todays video! We will be using the brand-new Ai Scalloped Oval Die Set for the flap design. You will love this 9 piece oval die set. The largest oval has a detailed scallop look to it!

Once the card base and ovals have been assembled onto the card base, we can stamp our cake onto some smooth white cardstock and color it with our Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Pale Yellow, Orange, Pale Green, Lt Green, English Lavender, Violet, Lt Gray.

We can die cut this with the coordinating die and pop it up onto the center oval for some added dimension.

We can now die-cut another oval for the inside of the card using the sentiment that says, “Birthday Wishes Coming Your Way!” from the Ai Birthday Sentiments Set (5735). I’ll show you a little trick for lining this up perfectly behind the ovals on the front of the card in today’s video. Let’s stamp a few candles from this same set and attach them around the sentiment.

Next, let’s add a bit of sparkle using the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen and a few lavender gems! As a finishing touch, we can add some lavender iridescent ribbon and tie a pretty bow!

Flip-Flop Card – Big Birthday Wishes!

Let’s create a super fun flip-flop card using this fun and funky birthday cake! This cake is from the Ai Birthday Cake Set (5255) and the sentiment “Big Birthday Wishes” is from the Ai Big Birthday Wishes Set (SC0794).

I will show you a quick and simple way to create this flip-flop design. There are other ways to create this type of card but I wanted to show you this very simple shortcut method. I’ll give you all of the easy measurements for die cutting and folding your card!

To do our coloring today we will be using the Tombow Dual Tip Markers (055, 062, 873, 905, 451, 452, N95) and the Zig Blender Pen to do our blending. Our color palette today will be a combinations of blues, yellows and coral. This will make for a pretty color combination!

We will die cut two card panels for the inside of our card using the Ai Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Die Set (5063) and to create look of confetti on our background we will be spattering the two card panel inserts using some Distress Oxide Sprays in Abandoned Coral, Saltwater Taffy and Squeezed Lemonade.

For a bit of sparkle and dimension we will add some little sparkly gems, a touch of the Wink of Stella glitter pen, and some clear glaze!

Art Impressions Piles of Smiles Birthday Card!

Let’s create a fun Spring themed birthday card using the adorable Ai Duck Stackers Set (4738)! And then…let’s have the top duck holding a birthday cake which comes from the Ai Birthday Cake Set.

To set the scene for our card, we will create a beautiful sky using the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pad in Saltwater Taffy and we will also add some Abandoned Coral for a bit of shadowing in the sky! Then we will do some spattering with water to add additional interest.

For the grassy border, we will be using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Inks. I will show you how to easily mask off the grass and the sky using some masking paper. This is simple and easy to do! And….to add a little interest to the grassy border we will use the grassy clusters from the Ai Bible Foliage Set (5073). These are perfect for adding a whimsical look to your grass!

Let’s also add a cute little fence border using the Ai WC Fence Dies (4967) and some pretty flowers using the Ai Glamour Pop-ups Set (5355). We will also be using the Happy Birthday sentiment from this set as well.

We will add a bit of sparkle with some pretty gem stones! We will also add some birthday candles and a fun sentiment to the inside of the card….this will tie everything together!

The coloring will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens as follows: Blender, Pink Flamingo, Peach Pink, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Scarlet Red, Lt Violet, Lt Green, Turquoise Green, Lt Gray, Gray Brown

Art Impressions – Miss Hat Shaker Card!

Hello Ai Fans!!!

In todays video and card we will be using one of the brand new Hats Off Sets from Art Impressions! This is the adorable Miss Hat Set (5404)! This set includes several different wonderful hats…. the Birthday Cake, Birdcage, Pheasant and Latte Hats! The set also includes the coordinating dies and several wonderful sentiments!

We will be creating a super fun shaker card! We will use some beautiful sparkle cardstock and iridescent hearts to give this birthday card a fun and festive look! I’ll share with you a few tips and tricks for easily creating a simple shaker card.

All of the coloring will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a Blender Pen!

There were three new collections in this series which also includes the Mr. Hat Set (5406) and Mrs. Hat Set (5405)! I have previously done a video using the Mr. Hat Set which is linked here!
