Charming Thanksgiving Card w/ Nested Pumpkin Dies!

Let’s create a fun, unique and charming Thanksgiving card using the Scrapbook.com Nested Pumpkin Dies! We will begin by die cutting the three smallest pumpkins and the coordinating stems. For paper we will be using the Art Impressions Pastel Meadows Paper Pack. I think that these papers give the look of fancy porcelain …if that makes any sense!

To begin, we will die cut the pumpkins using the Scrapbook.com Nested Pumpkin Dies using some cream-colored cardstock. We will ink blend the stems with some green and some beige ink around the edges of the pumpkins as well. Let’s also add a bit more definition to the stems using a permanent sepia marker.

For the frame we will use the Scrapbook.co Nested A2 Arches Dies. Once we have centered and die cut the arch we can ink around the edges of this frame as well. We can attach the polka dot frame to some pink striped paper and spatter these with some gold metallic ink. This will add a beautiful shimmer!

Next, we will cut a piece of kraft colored corrugated cardstock and tear it along the edges on an angle. This will fit nicely into the left corner of the frame. Before we attach this to the frame we can ink the corrugated paper with that same beige ink. Let’s also add some pretty twine in a dusty rose color and tie a bow.

Before we assemble anything else, let’s stamp a sweet sentiment at the top and center of the frame. Now we can attach the corrugated paper to the frame and then add the pumpkins.

Let’s also add some sparkly gold sequins and a few sweet little butterflies. We can add a bit of that same gold metallic ink on the centers of the butterflies and fold them on the score lines for some added dimension.

We will again take the brown marker and draw a few lines and dots in the upper right-hand corner for added interest. Let’s also add some white ink spattering to the entire card to brighten everything up!

We could stop at this point, however as I looked at this card I decided I wanted the sentiment to be darker and also to be popped up. So, I restamped it in a darker ink and die cut it with a small oval die. Then we can place it directly over the sentiment that we had previously stamped. But it certainly would have been just fine the way it was…. I just couldn’t stop myself!

Stenciled Golden Leaves and Ink Blended Background!

Let’s get started by creating a pretty fall background. To do this, we will first die-cut one of the Ai Banner Double Stitched Dies (5134) from some smooth white cardstock. Let’s start with our lightest color which is the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Scattered Straw, then blend in some Spiced Marmalade and finally some Crackling Campfire.

Now we will add some fluttering leaves using the Lawn Fawn Autumn Breeze Stencil. We are going to emboss the leaves with some gold embossing powder for a nice metallic look. In order to do this, we will lay the stencil over the ink blended background and using the Versamark Watermark Ink Pad and a foam applicator tool, we will pounce this ink onto the stencil. Now let’s remove the stencil and add some gold embossing powder to the leaves. Using our heat tool, we can go ahead and emboss the leaves. This gives the leaves an elegant metallic shine! We will also spatter this panel with some gold metallic ink and now we have a beautiful fall sky!

Next, we will stamp and color our little squirrel using the adorable Ai Feast Mode (5191) Set. All of the coloring was done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Beige, Sand, Brown, Mid Brown, Lt Gray, Gray Brown. We can then fussy cut the image leaving a little white border all the way around.

Let’s wrap this background with some natural hemp twine and tie a pretty bow! Now we will die-cut another stitched banner to create a nice border in a dark brown. We can add some foam mounting tape to this background banner and attach the two together.

We can now create our card base from some Kraft Cardsock which will also be spattered with gold as well. And on this card base we will stamp the sentiment from that same set which says, “Thankful for you”.

Finally, let’s glue these together and add a few sparkly gold gems!
