Shabby Chic Gift Card Holder!

Today we will be creating a fun Shabby Chic Gift Card Holder using the brand-new Ai Flower & Bug Set (6041) which was designed to fit perfectly on the Ai Gift Card Pocket Set (5811). This new Flower & Bug set includes a pretty flower and stem, a ladybug, a bee, and a little tag!

Let’s get started by using the Ai Mother’s Day Cover Paper Pack (6052) to create the little gift card pocket. As soon as I saw the beautiful roses paper in this pack, I knew that I had to do a Shabby Chic project! We will die cut this, assemble the pocket, and then start adding some ink to the edges to begin the Shabby Chic look. We will use a combination of Lost Shadow, Hickory Smoke, and Vintage Photo inks from the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads.

We also need to die-cut the flower, stem, and tag and we will also die-cut a pretty doily from the Tim Holtz Collection. We can ink the flower and tag in the Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry and the stem in the Lost Shadow and Hickory Smoke. We can ink around the edges of all of these pieces with the Vintage Photo ink as well.

Next, let’s add some Tim Holtz Distress Spritz in the same Vintage Photo. We will use the ink directly from the nozzle and spatter the pocket, flower and stem, doily, and tag! This will add a vintage look and also a bit of shimmer!

Now we will stamp a bit of text onto the tag using the Versafine Clair Ink Pad in Sand Dune. We can add a sentiment to the tag in this same ink. The sentiment if from the Ai Friend Sentiments Set (5734) and it says, “Live life in full bloom”, however, any of the sentiments from this set would be great.

We can add the doily, flower and stem to the pocket. You can use the left-over doily on the backside of the pocket if you want finish off the back of the pocket. Let’s also create a card for the pocket which will be the same size as a gift card. Then we can add the smaller tag to the top on a little bit of an angle.

Let’s add a button to the center of the flower and then we will add some Tim Holtz Distress Foundry Wax to the button and around the edges of the pocket. Be sure to heat set this once you have applied it otherwise it will just turn to a dust like consistency. Once it has been heat set it will add a metallic shine to your project. I will show you exactly how to use this wonderful product in today’s video.

We will also add some sparkle using the Tim Holtz Distress Mica Flakes around the edges of the pocket, flower and mini tag.

Let’s wrap some pretty Hemp Twine in Dusty Rose around the pocket and tie a bow. And, as a finishing touch we will add some Metallic Gems in Matte Gold. These have a nice vintage look to them!

Center Step Card with NEW Bunny Hugs Set!

Today we will be creating a fun “Center Step Card” using the brand-new Ai Bunny Hugs Set (6008). This cute set has some wonderful bunnies, a topiary of eggs, a basket of carrots, cute butterflies, several sentiments and so much more!

Let’s get started by stamping, coloring and die-cutting all of the images that we will be using on our card today. All of the coloring will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Peach Pink, Pink, Sugared Almond Pink, Lt Pink, Lt Carmine, Pale Yellow, Yellow, Ice Blue, Cobalt Blue, Turquoise Green, May Green, Green, Orange, Lt Brown, Beige, Oatmeal, Mid Brown, Lilac, Lt Gray.

Next, we can create the “Center Step” base of the card and layers using some pretty patterned papers from the Ai Basic Yellow, Green, and Teal Paper Packs. I will give you all of the instructions for the base of the card and all of the measurements for each of the layering papers in today’s video!

Once the base of the card and layers have been assembled, we will create a pretty bow for the card using the Ai Gift Card Pocket Set (5811). We can glue this to the bottom of the card, and this will add lots of interest and dimension to the card!

Let’s stamp a couple of the sentiments from this set onto some white cardstock and some yellow polka dot cardstock using the label die from the Ai Journal Template die Set (5543). We can also add some black stitching around the edges of these sentiments using a permanent black marker. We can place one of these on the outside of the card and the other on the inside.

For a bit of sparkle, let’s add some pretty white gems around the card, sentiment label, and to the bow!

Woodland Critters Gift Card Holders!

Today we will be creating 3 festive holiday gift card holders using the brand-new Ai Woodlands Critters Set (5953). This cute set has several woodland critters and several coordinating sentiments. The set also includes the matching dies!

Let’s begin by creating the gift card pocket using the Ai Gift Card Pocket Set (5811) and some heavy weight kraft cardstock. We will also die cut an additional piece to turn this pocket into a folding card! I will show you exactly how to do this in today’s video.

Now we can select some pretty holiday papers to cover the front and back of the card. Again, I will show you how to easily cut these papers to fit perfectly on your card.

Next, we can select 3 images from this stamp set and stamp, color and die cut our images. To do our coloring today, we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Yellow, Orange, Sugared Almond Pink, Deep Vermillion, May Green, Deep Green, Dark Green, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray Cool Gray 6.

Using the brand-new Ai Portfolio Template Set (5952), we will grab 2 label dies and the circle ornament die. I will give you a closer look at all of the dies that are included in the set…and there are a ton of them! The set was designed to create a portfolio, but I love using the individual dies in these sets for a multitude of projects!

Once these have been die-cut we will ink around the edges with some “cup ‘o joe” brown ink and then we can add our images to the front of each. Once we have glued them in place we can trim away any excess and then we will add a set of leaves and holly berries to each one. We will also be adding the leaves and holly berries to the back of the gift card holder and the inside of the card as well.

Let’s go ahead and spatter the cards with some bleed proof white ink and stamp some cute little sentiments on the front and inside of each of the cards using that same stamp set.

Next, let’s add our images to each of the cards…and for the “ornament” critter we will add a string and bow using a permanent black marker!

So Sweet Armfuls Thank You w/ Stenciling and Glitter Paste

Today we will be using the brand-new Ai So Sweet Armfuls Stamp and Die Set (5904). This little set includes the cute bear that we will be using today, as well as, an elephant, heart, cupcake and a sentiment! When you die cut these little “Armful” images it will create a little slit above and below the arms so that they can hold the heart or cupcake or anything else you may want to place in their arms!

We can die cut the Ai Rounded Rectangle Double Stitched Dies (5062) panel using some Strathmore Bristol Smooth 100lb Cardstock.

Now we can create a stenciled flower background using some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, and Festive Berries. We will add layers of ink using some blending brushes. Starting with the lightest color and adding the two darker colors. Once we have completed stenciling the flowers we can remove the stencil and spatter the background. Let’s set this aside to dry completely and then we will come back to it later.

While we are waiting let’s go ahead and stamp and color the little bear using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Pink Haze, Beige, Mid Brown, Gray Tint. To color the heart, we will use the Distress Oxide Inks and then we will use those same inks to add some polka dots to the heart and the overalls on the bear.

Next, we can die cut the bear and heart. You will see the little slits that I talked about earlier. This is where we will slide in our polka dotted heart.

Now that the background panel is dry let’s add the pretty glitter paste using that same flower stencil. This will add lots of texture and sparkle to this panel!

Now we can grab the Ai Gift Card Pocket Set (5811) to die cut the pieces we need to create pretty bow and the “Thank You” sentiment.

Let’s quickly assemble the card and add a few pearls that have the pink and brown mix which will just bring everything together!

For the inside of the card, let’s stamp the sentiment that came with the stamp set and emboss it using some detail white embossing powder. Now we can die cut the sentiment using one of the heart dies from the Ai Nested Heart Dies Set (5721).

Cosmic Watercolor Card w/ Double Layered Embossing Folder!

Let’s begin by creating our shimmery background using the Vicki Boutin Cosmic Watercolors. We will apply a rainbow of colors onto some Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock using a nice wide brush. We can overlap the colors for a nice, blended look. Once we apply the chosen colors, we can add a second layer of color to darken the background up a bit.

Next, we can create some additional backgrounds by applying the inks directly onto our glass media mat. We will just randomly add these colors and then place the cardstock over the top and pick up the inks. This will give us some pretty backgrounds which we will be using to die cut some butterflies and a “thank you” sentiment using the Ai Gift Card Pocket Set (5811).

Once backgrounds are completely dry you will be able to see the beautiful cosmic shimmer look…so pretty!

Now let’s take the rainbow background panel and using the Sizzix 3-D Textured Impressions (Geometric Flowers) Embossing Folder we can run it through our die cutting machine. Wait until you see the gorgeous background this creates; you are going to love it!

Next, we will create a white embossed panel for the front of the card, but we want to make sure that it lines up perfectly with the shimmery embossed background that we have already created. I will give you a few tips and tricks for this in today’s video!

Let’s quickly assemble all of the layers using some pretty pink cardstock and let’s also add some pearl gems to the center of the butterflies. These are very elegant two-tone pearls with Lime Green and Light Pink!

Finally, we can add the sentiment to the inside of the card. This finishes off the card nicely and brings a bit of that shimmer to the inside of the card!
