Christmas Stocking Shaped Cards!

Let’s create two fun stocking shaped cards today. These can be used as tags or ornaments as well!

We will begin with the Ai Dwelling Christmas Set (6124) for some small images, which we will stamp and color using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Tea Rose, Beige, Mid Brown, May Green, Deep Green.

We can die cut those images using the Ai Nested Circle Dies (5726) and then ink around the edges using the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Lumberjack Plaid and Rustic Wilderness.

Now to create the stocking shaped card base we will use our stocking die. I will show you exactly how to die cut this in today’s video. This technique can be used with any of your shaped dies and gives your cards a unique and fun look!

Let’s die cut an additional stocking for the front of the card and begin by stenciling a pretty sweater pattern on it using the Lawn Fawn Cozy Sweater Stencil. Now we can ink around the edges of each stocking with the coordinating color.

Let’s also die cut a topper for the stocking using some pretty Lawn Fawn Sparkle Cardstock. With some additional sparkle cardstock we will die cut the “Joy” sentiments using the Ai Jesus & Joy Dies (5986) and the snowflake using the Ai Lg Snowflake Dies (5353).

Now we will add the circle with the images to the center of each of the snowflakes and then for a bit more sparkle we will add some pretty confetti to each!

Let’s also add a nice border to the bottom of the stocking using the Lawn Fawn Nordic Snowflake Border using some more sparkle paper and then adding a few more sequins.

Finally, we can stamp a cute sentiment on the inside of the card and attach the decorated stocking to the front of the card!

Holiday Favor Jars!

Let’s have some fun creating these adorable little Holiday Favor Jars! Making party favors is absolutely one of my favorite things to do! We will be using the brand-new Ai Christmas Keepsake Set (6104) which includes an adorable snowman, reindeer, elf, and Christmas tree. There is also a little wooden basket/barrel that will fit any of these images and will coordinate perfectly with the other set in this series…Ai Fall Keepsake Set (6105). You can easily mix and match the little tin bucket and this wooden container to hold any of these little images!

To begin today’s project, we will stamp, color and die cut all of the images. All of the coloring will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Deep Red, Peach Pink, Lt Pink, Geranium Red, Wine Red, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Orange, Flesh Colour, Mustard, Beige, Mid Brown, Haze Blue, Blue, Deep Blue, May Green, Green, Lt Gray, Gray.

I used some small Mason Jars for this project, and I will show you exactly which ones I used in today’s video. We will first die cut the lacy borders using the Ai BJ Decorative Margin Dies (5972). These nice long (7″) dies will fit perfectly around the jars. We will die cut the border once and then run it through the die cutting machine again to die cut the other side. There is a little trick to doing this which I will also show you in the video.

Now we will grab the Ai Winter Woodland Cover PP (5964) to add to this lacy border. Again, this paper is a little longer and will allow us to go around the jars nicely. We can now wrap these around the jars and add our little images to the front of each.

For the top of the lids, we will die cut a small circle using the Ai Winter Woodland PP 6″x6″ (5963) in a pretty red. Then we will add a snowflake to each using the Ai Lg Snowflake Dies (5353). And to the center of each snowflake, we will add a few sparkly confetti sequins.

We will wrap the top of the jars with some red and white baker’s twine and tie on a cute little tag using a few sentiments from this same stamp set!

Then we can add a few white paper shreds, that will look like snow and then add some festive holiday treats!

Snowman Puppet Tag Cards!

Today we will be using a wonderful brand-new stamp and die set called the Ai Snowman Puppet Set (5803) which includes all of the pieces needed to create a boy or girl snowman! It is just so simple and adorable. I think it is one of my favorite stamp sets from this year’s holiday collection!

We can start by stamping the images needed to create the boy and girl and color them using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Lt Pink, Pink, Geranium Red, Turquoise Green, Lt Blue, Cobalt Blue, Bright Yellow, Scarlet Red, Haze Blue, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray, Cool Gray 6. We can also die cut them using the coordinating dies that come with this set. Once these are colored, we can add a few details using some gel pens in coordinating colors!

Next, let’s die cut these pretty tags using the Ai Tag Stitched Dies (5132). We will die cut two from some white 100lb cardstock and two from some kraft 100lb cardstock. We can score one of the tags so that we can create a tag card design. I will show you how to do this in today’s video!

We will also be using that same tag die to die cut two more tags from the Ai Gnome Paper Pack (5832). Which will give us a blue w/ white polka dots tag and a cream w/ blue polka dots tag. These will serve as our snowy backgrounds.

Next, we can die cut a few snowy borders for each of the tags using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders Dies.

Let’s also die cut a pretty snowflake for each of the tags using the Ai Lg Snowflake Dies (5353).

Now for the fun part…. assembling our cute little puppet snow people and our tags!

For a finishing touch, we will add a small heart in the center of each snowflake and some pretty velvet ribbon in pinks and blues!

These tags were created for the current “Clean and Simple” Blog Challenge! Although these tags have a lot of detail to them, I felt that the simplicity of the designs really fit this challenge so well. As always, we invite you to join in the blog challenge…. we would love to see what you create!

Pretty Poinsettia Card – Embossing using your dies!!!

Today let’s create a pretty and elegant Christmas card using the brand-new Ai WC Poinsettia Set (5828). We will be using the three sizes of the poinsettia images to create some very dimensional flowers. I also want to show you how you can easily use your dies to emboss your cards. This technique can be used with any of your dies!

Let’s begin by stamping the poinsettias onto some Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock and then we can color them using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Wine Red.

Using our detail scissors we can cut these out and then we can add some dimension using a sculpting mat and tools. Now we can layer these flowers. For the larger flower we will use all three sizes and for the smaller ones we will layer the medium and small flowers.

Let’s add a gold center to each flower using the Hero Arts Pearls in gold!

We can also die cut some greenery and berries using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits – Merry & Bright set. By adding more of the Hero Arts Pearls in the White we can give these berries a touch of elegance! And to the sprigs we can add the Tim Holtz pretty Rock Candy glitter!

Let’s die cut the snowflake frame from the Ai Snowflake Frame Set (5782). We will layer this frame onto some vellum paper and a pretty snowflake paper from the Ai Christmas S2 Paper Pack (5812). We can also stamp the word “magic” onto to the vellum paper using the Ai Christmas Sentiments Set (5566).

The beautiful “Christmas” die cut sentiment is from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits – Vault Series: Christmas 2021. We will die cut this from some pretty gold sparkle cardstock.

I’d like to show you a really fun and easy technique today. This technique will allow you to do some beautiful embossing using your dies! This is a great way to get more use from you dies! I’ll show you exactly how to do this in today’s video! I’ll be using the Spellbinders Platinum 6 Die Cutting machine, but you should use the instructions for your specific machine.

Let’s do a quick assembly of all of these wonderful elements! You could totally change this card by changing the color of the poinsettias and greenery.

How to make a cascading card – using the Front and Back Snowman!

Let’s create a super fun Cascading Card today! Today’s video will contain all of the measurements for cutting and scoring your cardstock to create this interactive card! Although this design looks quite complicated, I have filmed the video so that you can follow along and pause the video as needed in order to complete each section of the card very easily.

For our focal image we will be using the brand-new Ai FB Snowman (5779). This set will contain the front and back of the cutest little snowman as well as the coordinating dies. These front and back images are perfect for your spinner, acetate and window cards.

We can stamp and die cut our snowman. All of the coloring will be done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Wine Red, Sugared Almond Pink, Turquoise Mint, Blue Green, Bright Yellow, Haze Blue, Warm Gray 4.

Next, let’s die cut several pretty snowflakes with some sparkle paper using the Ai Lg Snowflake Dies (5353). We need to cut two of each so that we can glue them back-to-back. Let’s also add some teal opalescent sequins to the center of each of these snowflakes.

For our sentiments we will be using the Ai Nested Heart Dies (5721) and the Ai Chubby Snowman Set (5351) and Ai Christmas Sentiments Set (5566). The scallop heart will be in the same sparkle cardstock and then for the middle heart we will be using the pretty heart paper from the Ai Valentine Paper Pack (5741). The smallest hearts will contain our sentiments and one will say “Snow place like home for the holidays!” and the other will say “Let it snow”.

Art Impressions Snowman Flip-Flop Card w/ Pastels

Hello and Welcome!!!

I’ve got a really fun Flip-Flop winter card to show you in todays video!

We will be using the Snowman Pop-ups Set (5358) a little bit differently today. Rather than making the pop-up for the inside of our card we will use the stamp and the die to create this flip-flop card! I will provide you with step-by-step instructions on cutting this die in order to create the flip-flop mechanism. And….I’ll show you why this particular die makes creating this style of card even easier!!!

The coloring will be done using the beautiful Palette Pastels from the Jane Davenport collection. I’ll show you some easy blending and shadowing techniques.

To create the beautiful snowflakes we will be using the Lg Snowflake Dies (5353) and we will be cutting them out of some beautiful sparkly glitter cardstock!
