Today, I’m excited to show you another brand-new set from the new release of all 5 of the active ladies! We will be using the Ai Loungin’ Linda Set (6077) on today’s card. Keep in mind that each of the sets include a little lady and several sentiments and the coordinating dies. The collection includes Cruisin’ Carol, Birdie Betty, Gardener Gail, Cruisin’ Carol, Pickleball Patty! There are also some scenic paper packs that coordinate with each of the ladies. These are perfect for creating a quick backdrop for your cards!

Today’s card was inspired by the new Ai Blog “Stitches and Scallops” Challenge which is to use stitching or stitched or scalloped dies. Please join us in this new challenge … we would love to see what you create!

To set the scene for today’s card, we will be creating a fun beachy background with a pretty wave for Loungin’ Linda to enjoy! We will apply some Versamark Watermark Ink to the cardstock using a stippling technique and then apply some white embossing powder. This will give us the look of a wave once we apply some Tim Holtz Distress Inks to create the sand and water. I’ll show you exactly how to do this in today’s video!

For some added interest, we will spatter the sand with some Gathered Twigs ink and the water with some Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bleed Proof White Ink.

Let’s set this aside while we stamp, color and die cut Linda. For our coloring we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Haze Blue, Sea Green, Aquamarine Blue, Yellow, Orange, Flesh Colour, Pale Orange, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray.

Next, using a florescent orange gel pen lets add some cute little polka dots to her bathing suit and some highlights using a white gel pen.

For the front layering panel on our square card, we will use a pretty striped paper from the Ai Easter Paper Pack (5892). Let’s also add some peachy colored ribbon around this entire panel and pop-up the entire piece onto the center of the card front.

Next, using the Ai Scalloped Square Die Set (6047), we will die cut a peach-colored scalloped square and attach the beach scene that we created earlier. This will also get popped up on the card as well as Loungin’ Linda and the fun sentiment that is included in this set. It says ” LOUNGIN’ IS A LIFESTYLE” and is just perfect for this fun summer card!

As a finishing touch, let’s add some “ocean breeze” gems for a bit of sparkle!
