Hello and Welcome!!!
Today we will be creating two elegant embossed cards using a simple and easy watercolor technique!
To get started let’s take a look at the beautiful embossing folder that we will be using today which is the Sizzix 3-D Textured Impressions – Wildflowers.
Now we can open the embossing folder and apply some Tim Holtz Distress Ink (lighter color first) on the top portion of the folder and then we can run this through our die cutting machine. For the second card we will apply the ink to the top of the embossing folder and then spritz it with a bit of water and run it through.
For the first card we will be using a combination of the Kistch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry inks and for the second card we will be using the Scattered Straw and Abandoned Coral inks. These color combinations are just gorgeous but have some fun playing around with your favorite colors.
Next we can grab a #6 Round Brush and water to blend out the inks a little bit. Now let’s take the darker color and load the brush up with plenty of water and then pick up the darker color and apply some to the centers of the flowers and into some of the crevices of the embossing folder. You can apply as much or as little of this darker color as you like.
Now we can spatter each of these card panels with the darker color. We will use that same larger #6 brush so that we get some large spatters!
To create the sentiments we will be using the Creative Expressions “Smile” Wordies Sentiment Sheets. These sheets are loaded with sentiments and are designed to be used with your Hot Foiling System or simply used just the way they are.
In this video I will give you a few tips for foiling these sentiments. We will use the Spellbinders Glimmer Foil in Polished Brass and Silver.
Next we can assemble the card using some black cardstock to make the sentiment and the background pop out a little bit better!
Finally, let’s add a few pretty metallic gems from Pinkfresh Studio in Silver and Sparkling Champagne!
