Tim Holtz Corner Bookmarks!

Today we will be creating some fun corner bookmarks using lots of Tim Holtz products including the Sizzix Thinlits Dies, Stampers Anonymous Stamps, Distress Spritz, Distress Oxides, Mini Layering Stencils and Design Tape!

To create the corner pocket, I thought it would be fun and easy to use the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits – Vault Pillow Box & Bag Die Set. I’ll show you exactly how quick and easy this is to do in today’s video!

We will be die cutting the corners from some 65lb cream colored cardstock. This will ensure that our bookmarks do not get too bulky and thick. Let’s add some inks around the edges of each of these using the Distress Oxide Inks in Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, and Black Soot.

Next, we will spatter all of the pieces for the bookmarks in different colors using the Distress Spritz in Lumberjack Plaid, Rustic Wilderness, and Broken China. This will give each one a nice shimmer and will add lots of interest without adding any bulk.

Let’s go ahead and assemble the corner pockets and add some soft stenciling to the background of each tag using the TH Stampers Anonymous Mini Layering Stencils and the Antique Linen ink.

Now we can do some stamping using the TH Stampers Anonymous Stamps – Curiosity Shop Set. This has so many wonderful images in it … it is one of my favorite sets! It includes the top hat, four-leaf clover, and light bulb that we will be using today. However, there are tons of other images including a vintage typewriter, pointing fingers, extra-large numbers several sentiments, and so much more!

Once we have stamped the images, we will color them using the Distress Oxides in the coordinating colors, cut them out with our detail scissors, and add a bit of Vintage Photo around the edges.

Next, we will assemble the corner pockets and stamp some wonderful sentiments from this same stamp set. We will spatter these again using the Vintage Photo … but be sure to cover the stamped sentiments before you do this so that you won’t spatter over the letters.

For a finishing touch, let’s add some TH idea-ology – Design Tape – Trims. Again, this will add some wonderful interest but very little thickness to the bookmarks!

My husband had asked me to make him some bookmarks so I will give them to him as a gift along with a new book that he has been wanting. I had so much fun making these … hope he likes them!
