Panda Birthday w/ Rainbow Glitter Stenciled Background!

Today we will be using the adorable brand-new Ai Baby Panda Set (6017) which has several little pandas and some packages, balloons, a cake, and several sweet sentiments!

Let’s begin by creating a fun and colorful rainbow dotted background using the Gina K. Designs Sun Spots Stencil. We will ink this with the Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Festive Berries, Ripe Persimmon, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean using the Tim Holtz Distress Applicator Tools. Be sure to get a nice blending of the colors as you go around the stencil.

Once the inks have been applied, we can add some pretty Hero Arts Glitter Paste over the top of these inks and this will give some beautiful texture and sparkle on the dots!

Next, we will stamp the panda with balloons and color it in using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Lt Gray, Gray.

For the balloons, we will watercolor them using the Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a #0 paint brush. This will ensure that the colors of the balloons will match the background perfectly. We will stamp and color some extra balloons for the inside of the card and color them the same way. Now we can use the coordinating die to die-cut the panda and extra balloons. Using some gel pens in a variety of colors we will add some dots and stripes to the balloons!

We will now die-cut two ovals using the Ai Oval Double Stitched Dies (5065). The smaller one from some white 100lb cardstock and the larger one from some black 100lb cardstock. This black oval will frame the panda nicely. We will add a bit of ink around the edges of the white oval and the square background panel just to tie everything together. Let’s also add the “So CUTE!” sentiment.

We can create a second white panel for the inside of the card using the extra balloons and also add another cute sentiment that says, “Hope your day is pand-tastic”. We will add the string to the balloons using a black permanent maker!

Let’s assemble all of the layers and pop up the panda and ovals and add a few sparkly gems in some coordinating colors just above the sentiment!
