Creating a Quilted Background – Peeking Bunnies!

Today we will be creating a fun quilted background for our card! This background can be used on many of your cards, and these are really fun to make ahead and have ready for your future projects! Each of the quilted squares will be die-cut from the Ai Square Double Stitched Dies (5061). For paper we will be using the brand-new Ai Basic Yellow Paper Pack (6012). However, you could use any of the brand-new Paper Packs which include the Basic Yellow, Basic Pink, Basic Teal and Basic Green. You could easily mix and match these colors for a beautiful, quilted background as well.

After selecting some of the pretty papers in yellow plaids, dots, and stripes, and die-cutting them, we will add a bit of Versafine Clair Ink Pad in Sand Dune around the edges of each of the squares. This will soften the look of the squares and bring everything together.

Let’s set those aside and stamp, color and die-cut our images from the Ai Peeking Bunny Set (5870). This little easter set is so cute because when you cut the wagon it will create a little slit so that you can tuck your bunny inside. The dies will also cut some slits under the paws of the little bunny so that the bunny can hold an egg, sentiment, or just peek over the top of the cart, as we will be doing today All of today’s coloring was done using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Lt Pink, Pale Rose, Orange, Yellow, Ice Blue, Lt Blue, Pale Yellow, Lt Green, Lt Violet, Lt Gray, Beige, Mid Brown.

Now we can create a standard A2 size top folding card base out of some Kraft 100lb cardstock. Let’s also die-cut this beautiful scallop rectangle panel using the Lawn Fawn Lacy Rectangle Stackables Dies and some white cardstock. We will also cut a Kraft panel for the front of this scallop rectangle, and I will give you all of the dimensions in today’s video.

Let’s glue the scallop rectangle to the front of the card and add the kraft panel on top. Now for the fun part…. adding the stitched squares in a random pattern. Let’s also stamp the “Hello Easter” from the Ai Easter Sentiments Set (5733), to the center square using that same Sand Dune Ink.

Now we can add the little cart with the bunny tail sticking out, and the peeking bunny over the top and some additional eggs along the bottom of the card panel using a combination of 3D Foam Adhesives and glue.

Using a white gel pen we can add some details to the eggs and some highlights and for some additional dimension we will also add some clear glaze to a few of the eggs.

Once all of these pieces have been assembled, let’s add some pretty clay hearts in yellow and white!

If you like you can save one additional square for the sentiment on the inside of the card, just to tie everything together!

Peeking Easter Bunny – Box cards!

Today we will be creating some fun and adorable “Box Cards” using the brand-new Ai Peeking Bunny Set (5870). This cute set includes an adorable bunny and bunny tail, as well as, a basket of eggs, a flowerpot with tulips, and a fun little cart filled with chicks and eggs. We are going to be using all of these images today to create three cards!

Let’s start by creating the card base for this box card design. I have designed this to be a 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ box card when folded. I will give you all of the instructions and dimensions for the box card base and all of the layering pieces in today’s video. I’ll also give you the complete instructions for the box assembly!

For the pretty patterned papers, we will use the Ai Easter Paper Pack (5742). This is a double-sided paper pack and will allow us to easily mix and match some patterns in the same color combinations. We can go ahead and add all of these papers to the cards.

Now we can stamp and color all of our sweet little images using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Lt Carmine, Peach Pink, Yellow, Pale Orange, Bright Yellow, Orange, Pale Green, Lt Green, May Green, Lt Blue, Cobalt Blue, Lt Violet, Violet, Dk Green, Beige, Lt Brown, Brown, Mid Brown, Platinum Brown, Lt Gray, Warm Gray 6, Dk Gray.

This set does include the coordinating dies, which will make cutting out these images very easy to do. Another wonderful thing about these dies is that they also cut a slit in the top of the pot, cart, and basket and it also cuts the paws on the bunny so that he/she can hold an egg, or sentiment or anything you like!

We will also die cut a scallop border for each of the boxes using the Ai Journal Template Set (5543). This can be glued onto the front panel of the box card.

Next, let’s stamp a couple of sentiments for the front and back of the card using the Ai Easter Sentiments Set (5733) and this new stamp set. To frame these sentiments, we will use the Ai Journal Rectangle Frames (5591). This little scallop square will coordinate nicely with the scallop border that we die cut!

Let’s go ahead and assemble all of the pieces onto the cards. The bunny will be holding the sentiment in its little paws…. which is just so much fun!

Using a white gel pen we can add some details to the eggs and highlights to the other images.

Finally, we can add a few iridescent sequins for some added interest and sparkle!

Easter Bunny Puppets – Tag Gift Card Holders!

Let’s get started by creating our tag gift card holder base! To do this we will be using the Ai Gift Card Pocket Die Set (5811). We will be doing something a bit different with this by creating a tag card with a gift card pocket on the back side of the tag card. I will show you exactly how to die cut your cardstock and where to place the score line and adhesive in order to achieve this fun card design!

Next, we will be adding some color to our tag card pieces. For one of the cards, we will use a beautiful Hero Arts Lacey Floral Stencil and for the other one we will use the wonderful Lawn Fawn Brick Stencil. Let’s add some color by using our Tim Holtz Distress Inks to create an ombre’ look on the tags. The lacey floral will be in Hero Hues Core Ink (Oranges) and the other will be in the Hero Hues Core Ink (Fresh Greens). Basically, we will go from the darkest ink to the lightest ink, and this will help to ground our scene a bit better!

Now we will stamp and color these adorable Ai Easter Bunny Puppet (5869) images. These are like little paper dolls that you can dress up! I don’t know what it is about these little puppets…but I just love them! There is an adorable Ai Snowman Puppet set that was released in the Fall and I had a blast with that set as well! I will link that here if you would like to take a look:

For the coloring today we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Orange, Scarlet Red, Lt Blue, Smoky Teal, Cobalt Blue, Lt Green, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray.

This set does include the coordinating dies so you can easily cut these out and then we can easily assemble the little girl bunny and the little boy bunny.

Let’s stamp a few cute sentiments for the inside and the outside of our tag card using the Ai Easter Sentiments Set (5733). The inside will say “Hippity Hoppity Some Bunny Loves You” and the outside will just say “Hop”. For the sentiment on the inside of the card we will stamp it and then cut it out using the scallop circle die from the Ai Journal Oval Frames (5588) Set.

Let’s add the bunnies and a little heart. We can use our alcohol markers to change the color of these hearts from white to orange and yellow. This is an easy way to change the color of your embellishments to coordinate perfectly with you projects!

Go ahead and pop a gift card, special note, tickets or anything you like in the back pocket on your tag card and make someone’s day extra special. You could even add a few extra paper doll items into the pocket, such as the clothing, bows, shoes, etc., so that the recipient could build their own paper doll!

SLIDER CARD – Bunny Front & Back!

Let’s create super fun SLIDER CARD using the Ai Bunny Front and Back (5732)! This little set includes both the front and back of the bunny which will be perfect for creating our slider card. This will allow the bunny to be seen from the outside and inside of the card…..which is super cute!!!

To get started I will show you how to easily cut the cardstock to create the card base. Once this is done we can create the background for our card. To create the grassy border we will mask off the bottom portion of the card and use the Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn.

To create the clouds in the sky we will be using a two part cloud stencil from the Lawn Fawn Collection. Again be sure to mask off the bottom of the card. We will ink the stencil using the Versamark Ink Pad and then we will add some white embossing powder to give the clouds some texture and dimension. This will also allow us to ink over the top of the clouds with some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Salvaged Patina. Once we have completed the inking we can wipe off any excess ink on top of the clouds with a paper towel.

Next we can stamp and color all of our images using the the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Lemon Yellow, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Orange, English Lavender, Purple, Lt Green, Aquamarine Blue, Turquoise Green, Lt Brown, Lt Gray, Cool Gray #3. The images we are using are from the Ai Bunny Front and Back (5732), Ai Bunny & Chicks Set (5737), and the Ai Easter Egg House Set (5738).

In the video I will give you all of the details and instructions on cutting and assembling the slider mechanism for this card. It’s very simple and easy to do!

We will stamp “Hippity Hoppity” on the front of the card and “Just hopping by to wish you joy this Easter day” on the inside of the card. These cute sentiments are from the Ai Easter Sentiments Set (5733). There a loads of fun Easter sentiments in this stamp set!

Finally, we can assemble our card and have fun watching that sweet little bunny slide back and forth…so much fun!!!

Pivot Pop-up Card – Bunnies and Chicks!

For my feature card today, and to kick off our new Ai Blog Challenge, we will be using some brand new images from the Art Impressions Spring 2023 Release to create a super fun and interactive PIVOT-POP UP card! This challenge is to create both the inside and front of your card….so this card will really highlight the inside of our card in a special way!

We’ve got the cutest little bunnies and chicks from the Bunny and Chicks Set (5737) and some festive Easter eggs and a cute little basket from the Easter Egg House Set (5738). These images are part of the Ai Watercolor Journal Series but we will be using them a bit differently today!

Let’s go ahead and stamp, color, and cut out all of our images using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Pink, Lemon Yellow, Yellow, Orange, Lt Violet, Purple, Lt Blue, Lt Green, Turquoise Green, Deep Green, Lt Brown, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray, Platinum Brown. We will leave a little white border all the way around the images when we cut them out.

To set the scene for our card we will be using the brand new Ai Easter Journal Series Paper Pack (5742). This paper is just perfect for Easter and Spring cards! Lots of pastels and pretty patterns! The sky will be die cut from the pastel blue polka dot paper and the ground will be a purple floral pattern. This will look like a beautiful field of flowers!

Now we can create the Pivot Pop-up mechanism for the inside of the card. I will give you all of the instructions for die cutting and assembling this mechanism in today’s video!

We can attach all of our cute little images to the card and pop-up. We will also die cut a collections of pretty clouds for the sky. On two of the clouds, on the front of the card, we will be stamping “Hippity” and “Hoppity” in a soft blue color. And for the inside of the card we will be using the brand new Ai Nested Oval Dies to create a cute place for our inside sentiment which says “Easter’s on its way!”. All of these sentiments are from the brand new Ai Easter Sentiments Set (5733).
