Easter Bunny Puppets – Tag Gift Card Holders!

Let’s get started by creating our tag gift card holder base! To do this we will be using the Ai Gift Card Pocket Die Set (5811). We will be doing something a bit different with this by creating a tag card with a gift card pocket on the back side of the tag card. I will show you exactly how to die cut your cardstock and where to place the score line and adhesive in order to achieve this fun card design!

Next, we will be adding some color to our tag card pieces. For one of the cards, we will use a beautiful Hero Arts Lacey Floral Stencil and for the other one we will use the wonderful Lawn Fawn Brick Stencil. Let’s add some color by using our Tim Holtz Distress Inks to create an ombre’ look on the tags. The lacey floral will be in Hero Hues Core Ink (Oranges) and the other will be in the Hero Hues Core Ink (Fresh Greens). Basically, we will go from the darkest ink to the lightest ink, and this will help to ground our scene a bit better!

Now we will stamp and color these adorable Ai Easter Bunny Puppet (5869) images. These are like little paper dolls that you can dress up! I don’t know what it is about these little puppets…but I just love them! There is an adorable Ai Snowman Puppet set that was released in the Fall and I had a blast with that set as well! I will link that here if you would like to take a look:

For the coloring today we will be using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Yellow, Bright Yellow, Orange, Scarlet Red, Lt Blue, Smoky Teal, Cobalt Blue, Lt Green, Beige, Mid Brown, Lt Gray.

This set does include the coordinating dies so you can easily cut these out and then we can easily assemble the little girl bunny and the little boy bunny.

Let’s stamp a few cute sentiments for the inside and the outside of our tag card using the Ai Easter Sentiments Set (5733). The inside will say “Hippity Hoppity Some Bunny Loves You” and the outside will just say “Hop”. For the sentiment on the inside of the card we will stamp it and then cut it out using the scallop circle die from the Ai Journal Oval Frames (5588) Set.

Let’s add the bunnies and a little heart. We can use our alcohol markers to change the color of these hearts from white to orange and yellow. This is an easy way to change the color of your embellishments to coordinate perfectly with you projects!

Go ahead and pop a gift card, special note, tickets or anything you like in the back pocket on your tag card and make someone’s day extra special. You could even add a few extra paper doll items into the pocket, such as the clothing, bows, shoes, etc., so that the recipient could build their own paper doll!

Double Flap Gatefold Birthday Card!

Today we will be creating a “Double Flap Gatefold” card! When you open the card, one of the flaps will go to the left and the other goes to the right! It’s a unique variation on a gatefold card that is lots of fun!

For our focal image we will be using the Ai Practically Perfect Set (5280). These adorable ladies are really going all out for this birthday celebration with cake, gifts, party hats and lots of confetti! There are also three perfectly coordinated sentiments included in this set.

We will first die cut the scallop ovals out of some lavender cardstock and the plain ovals from some white 100lb cardstock. These dies are from the Ai Journal Oval Frames (5588) Set.

Let’s start by stamping these ladies onto the largest white oval and the sentiment onto the smaller white oval. Now we can do some coloring using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Sugared Almond Pink, Peach Pink, Flesh Colour, Yellow, Pale Violet, Lilac, Pale Green, Lt Green, Lt Blue, Cobalt Blue, Haze Blue, Lt Gray, Beige, Gray.

Let’s assemble the ovals and add a strip of green plaid paper underneath the sentiment for a bit more interest. We will also add some pretty lavender gems to this strip of paper for some sparkle!

Now we can create the gatefold card base using the lavender cardstock and we will add some patterned paper panels from the Mini Birthday Paper Pack (5873) to the inside of the card and onto the flaps on the front of the card. I will show you exactly how to create this gatefold and give you all of the measurements in today’s video!

We will also add a scallop border to the left and right side of the inside of the card using the Ai Journal Template Set (5543). This will coordinate nicely with the scallop ovals on the front of the card.

Finally, we can glue the ovals to the two front flaps of the card. We will glue half of the oval with the ladies to the left panel and half of the oval with the sentiment to the right panel. This cute sentiment will say “A year older and still RIDICULOUSLY FABULOUS”!

This birthday card will bring a smile to anyone’s face, and it is so easy to create!

MINI SHAKER – using your paper scraps!

Let’s use up some of our pretty paper scraps and create a mini shaker element for today’s card! We can begin by die cutting a rectangle panel using the Ai Nested Rectangle Die Set (5724). Now let’s grab some of our leftover paper scraps…I’m using my scraps from the Ai Easter Paper Pack (5742). We will be cutting these papers into 1/2″ strips and attaching them to the front of this rectangular panel. You can place your strips either horizontally or vertically or even on an angle. By using a pretty paper pad like this one, you can be sure that all of your paper strips will coordinate very nicely with each other!

Now we can die cut a larger rectangle with that same die set using the Lawn Fawn Sparkle Cardstock in Pixie Dust and then layer these panels onto the front of our card base.

Next let’s stamp and color our little pup. This image is from the Ai Birthday Journal Set (5722) which is part of the newer Watercolor Journal Series! This sweet image was colored in using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Tea Rose, Aquamarine Blue, Lilac, Lt Gray Platinum Brown. We will fussy cut this image with our detail scissors.

Now we can build the MINI SHAKER element…so much fun! We will be using the Ai Journal Oval Frames Set (5588) for the scallop circle and the Ai Nested Circle Die Set (5726) to create the scalloped frame. In this video I will show you how to assemble this little shaker element for your card! It’s very simple and easy to do!!!

Next we can die cut several flowers from the Ai Journal Oval Frames Set (5588) and some little white sprigs from the Ai Journal Rectangle Frames Set (5591).

Let’s assemble the shaker with the flowers and sprigs for a pretty little arrangement at the bottom of the shaker. And we can repeat the sparkly gems that we used inside the shaker on the center of each of the flowers!

Going back to the Birthday Journal Set we can die cut the “Celebrate” sentiment that is included with this stamp set. We will use the same sparkle cardstock and attach this to a delicate piece of vellum paper. This will give our sentiment a more elegant look!
