Using your Alpha & Numeric dies to create a Patriotic shaker card!

Let’s create a fun Patriotic Shaker Card today! We will be using the brand-new Ai Large Letter Die Set (5910) and Ai Large Number Die Set (5911). These large dies are perfect for creating this style of card but would also be great on your scrapbook pages and journal pages!

This card goes along perfectly with the current Ai “ABC, 123” Blog Challenge which is to use your number, or letter dies to create a unique card or project!

We will begin by creating the shaker element for the card. To do this we will be using the Ai Journal Template Die Set (5543). We will grab the Scalloped Rectangle Die and the Window Frame Die. Let’s die cut the Scalloped Rectangle from some pretty red cardstock and a Window Frame from some bluejay cardstock.

We can assemble these two together by adding some clear acetate. Next, we can add some 3D Foam Strips and then add our cute little “Firecracker” embellishments and use some sparkly cardstock for the background panel. I will give you all of the instructions and details for the assembly in today’s video….it is quick and easy to do!

Now that the shaker element is complete, we can die cut a plaid panel for the front of the card using the Ai Rectangle A2 Double Stitched Dies (5063). Let’s add this to a white card base!

Now we can die cut the letters to create the word “July” using some red and white striped cardstock. Let’s also die cut the number “4” out of that same red cardstock we used earlier. We will also cut a few extras out of some white cardstock, glue them together, for added dimension and interest. Next, let’s glue the letters into each of the window frame openings and add a pretty sparkly scalloped circle in the center of the card for our number.

By adding a few of the “firecracker” shaker bits to the front of the card we can bring the card together nicely!

Keep in mind that this card design would be great if you change out your papers and colors and die cut the word “baby”, “hope”, “love” or even a name! A date would also work well, such as, “2024” for a graduation, wedding date or birthday! Just have some fun!

Fun w/ Large Alphabet Dies!

Let’s have some fun today using the brand-new Ai Large Letter Die Set (5910) to create an elegant floral friendship card! We will be using a pretty inlay technique to make these large letters look extra special!

This card was inspired by the current Ai “ABC, 123” Blog Challenge which is to use your number, or letter dies to create a unique card or project!

Let’s begin by creating the card base and adding a sweet lacy border using the brand-new Ai Bible Journaling Decorative Margin Dies (5972). This 7″ long border die is perfect for this larger card that we will be creating, and I will show you a little trick for cutting it just along the edge of the card.

Now we can add some pretty patterned papers from the Ai Encouragement Paper Pack (5955) and the Ai Encouragement Cover Paper Pack (5960). We will add the gingham plaid to the front of the card and the polka dot paper on the inside of the card. I will give you all of the measurements in today’s video. But before we attach the plaid paper to the card, we will die cut the word “FRIENDSHIP” onto the panel (be sure to keep the little pieces for the center of the R and D). Let’s go ahead and assemble the layers of the card.

Next, we will also die cut the letters again from some darker violet floral paper and these will get inlayed into the letter openings. This is a super fun and simple technique that adds lots of interest to your cards!

Now we can add some pretty iridescent ribbon to the top of the card and stamp a few sentiments using the Ai Friend Sentiments Set (5734).

Let’s stamp some floral images from the Ai My Hope Set (5936) and color them using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens in the following colors: Blender, Yellow, Pale Violet, Violet, May Green, Green. We will fussy cut these images using our detail scissors leaving a little white border around the edges.

Once we have the florals laid out on the card, we will glue some directly onto the card and pop-up some others for more interest and dimension!

This card would be great for a Mother’s Day card if you substitute the word “FRIEND” for “MOTHER”. You could certainly put any word or name you prefer and just change out the sentiments! Just have fun!
